In this guide we will tell you how to accompany the gravedigger on his rounds in the Forbidden Fruit quest in KCD 2, and we will also help you choose the best dialogue lines to avoid losing your reputation.

How to start the Forbidden Fruit quest in KCD 2

You can start completing the miller's next assignment immediately after completing his first quest. «Materia Prima». As soon as you give the miller the scroll stolen from the Troskovitz town hall, you can immediately ask him about work. If you wish, you can say goodbye to Kreisel for a while and return to his quest line later.

Walkthrough of the quest Forbidden Fruit in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

While completing the task, you will need to find a pit where saltpeter is formed, which Kreisel needs to create a golem. The substance can be obtained from pits with rotting corpses or manure, so you will have to ask for help from the gravedigger Ignaz from Troskovitz. The old man will not help Henry so easily and will ask for help with the work.

Go to the gravedigger

First of all, the miller will send you to talk to Bonka in the "Lair", since the girl knows where to look for saltpeter. Go from the mill across the bridge in the southwest, and then turn onto the path and follow along the pond until you get to the right place. If in the previous quest you went to Zinek for information, then you already know where the Lair is.

Once you reach the Lair, talk to the girl. Before telling her about the saltpeter pits, Bonka will ask if Henry has brought her any herbs. Choose an option "I have something for you" and give any plant from your inventory. Even a spoiled one will do. This way you can earn reputation points. To get even more, choose the following lines in the next dialogue:

  • Let's chat.
  • From a family of blacksmiths.
  • No, - in response to the question of whether Indro knows where saltpeter comes from.

The girl will tell you that you can find the saltpeter pit with the help of the gravedigger from Troskovice.

Travel to Troskovitz and head east from the village along the road. On the way, stop by the butcher's shop on the outskirts of the settlement and, as Bonka advised, buy a piece of raw pork as a gift for Ignaz. This is not necessary, but it will slightly improve the gravedigger's attitude towards Henry.

Go to the cemetery, find Ignatz there and ask him about the saltpeter pit.

When choosing what to answer to the gravedigger Ignatz to get the highest possible reputation, use the following lines:

  • Tell him the truth.
  • (Pay him with meat) - select the previously purchased piece of pork from your inventory.
  • Of course, I understand that.

Instead of immediately agreeing to travel, say: "I need to think about this."If you try to go with the gravedigger right away, he will remind Henry that he needs to leave at dawn and scold him for being inattentive.

Accompany the gravedigger on his rounds

At dawn (around 5-6am) find the gravedigger in the cemetery. At this time, he will most likely be at his hut. After choosing the "Let's go" option in the dialogue, tell him that you are ready.

After that, follow the old man to his cart and sit in it next to him by pressing the button "E". During the trip, you will be able to answer a few more questions from Ignatz by holding down "Q" and choosing lines using numbers. Best picks during the trip:

  • You could say that.
  • Bonka is not a thief (lie).
  • I don't see anything.

Find the carcass in the ruins of the farm

When you arrive at the first location, dismount from the cart, go back a little and follow the overgrown path into the forest, where you will find a destroyed farm.

Once you through the gate, fight off the wolf. He is alone, so the fight is not difficult. Do not run after him and wait for him to rush to successfully counterattack. After a few hits, the wolf will run away or die.

If you want to get the achievement "Fast" at the end of the game, throughout the entire age of animals can not be killed. To scare off the wolf in this quest, fight him with your fists. It is better not to touch the sword, as it can leave bleeding, and even if the animal escapes, it will bleed out.

The door to the room you need will be locked with a very complex lock, so you won't be able to break it. To get inside, go around the ruins and climb over the fence where the two barrels are.

Once in the courtyard, turn left and walk to the end of the building until you see a window in the wall on the left that you can crawl through. Along the way, you can pick up a fresh deer rump hanging on the fence behind a barrel.

Inside, you need to pick up the deer carcass. Pack it in a bag and exit through the door, it opens easily from the inside. The load is very heavy, so Henry will constantly spend stamina. As soon as its level drops to zero, the hero will drop the bag. Wait for it to recover, pick it up again and continue walking towards the cart.

Protect Ignatz from the farmhands

As you approach the cart, you will witness a short scene in which local farmhands accuse the gravedigger of theft. Intervene in the conversation and protect Ignatz. You can simply fight the peasants or kill them, but the best option is to convince them. There is a high chance that you can do this using the phrase: "Do I look like a thief to you?"

If it comes to a fight, it is better to try not to kill them, as this will be considered a crime.

Once you're done with the farmhands, go back for the sack and load it into the cart, then tell Ignatz that you're ready to move on and climb into the cart. During the ride, you can talk to the gravedigger a little more, choosing the following phrases:

  • I'm happy to help.
  • She's lying.
  • I'll take a look.

Remove carcasses from the farm

Once you reach the farm, go inside and take turns dragging two poisoned pig carcasses from there.

Additionally, at this stage of the quest, you can find the source of the infection and eliminate it together with Ignatz. To do this, follow the path from the farm to the north. As soon as you approach the stream, Henry will notice the smell of a corpse.

Go a little further upstream, to the northeast, and you will find rotting deer in the pond. To examine them, hold down Left Alt. Return to the cart and tell the gravedigger about the find. He will help Henry remove the corpses from the water, it will take an hour.

After completing the work on the farm, talk to Ignatz again and inform him that you are ready to go further. Get in the cart and wait for him to take you to the last stop, where you will need to deal with the dog that the owners do not like. During the conversation on the trip, the best dialogue choices are:

  • So far so good.
  • What can I do?

Choosing "I will not kill the dog" will anger Ignatz. The answers in this dialogue do not affect the further development of events, you will need to make a decision a little later.

Take care of the greengrocer's dog

Go to the greengrocer's yard and find a small shed where the animal was locked. To get to it, you need to enter the garden, then immediately turn left, go through the hayloft and turn onto an inconspicuous path on the right.

It turns out that the door to the barn is open and the dog is not inside. A fairly large search area will appear on the map, covering the entire territory of the greengrocer's lands.

You will hear barking soon. If you press at this point Left Alt, Henry will look in the direction from which the sound is coming. Go there and soon you will find Bonka, next to her will be the sought after dog. The tree is located northeast of the open shed.

To complete Ignatz's task, talk to Bonka and tell her twice that you are going to kill the dog. The girl will get angry and run away, and Henry will lose his reputation.

Open your inventory and find it there tincture "Death"... Click on "E", to poison her food and choose hare meat. All this was given out by the gravedigger a little earlier. To give poisoned meat to a dog, simply throw it out of the inventory by holding the button "X". The dog will eat the hare and then die immediately. Once you have completed the task, you can return to the gravedigger.

These actions will block access to obtaining the achievement. "Fast", since the killing of the Monarch (the greengrocer's dog) will be counted.

If you don't want to kill the dog and want to find out how to spare the dog, in the dialogue with Bonka, select the option "I don't want to kill him"Then the girl will take the animal and leave.

Return to the gravedigger's cart and talk to Ignatz. If you killed the dog, just report it. Otherwise, try to lie to the old man by choosing the following options:

  • I killed him (lie).
  • The sight was unpleasant.

If Henry has enough eloquence, the gravedigger will believe him. If he fails, you will lose reputation. In any case, Ignatz will fulfill his promise and take Henry to the saltpeter pit.

Where to find a saltpeter pit

All that's left is to find a saltpeter pit and taste it to make sure it's her. To get reputation points, choose in the dialogue with the gravedigger:

  • Kreisel will send his people here.
  • Maybe that's how it will be.

To taste the saltpeter, aim your sight just above the pit, an interaction option will appear in the lower right corner of the screen, then press "E".

If you suddenly left the place where the gravedigger brought you during the quest and lost the necessary pit, go along the road to the east of Apolena. After the path turns south, find Ignatz's cart standing on the road. The saltpeter pit is nearby, next to an old man sitting on a stump.

Once you've made sure that it's saltpeter, talk to the gravedigger again and ask him to take you back to the cemetery. If you've gained enough reputation during the playthrough and convinced the old man that the dog is dead, he'll agree and give Henry a ride. Otherwise, you'll have to get there on your own.

To complete the quest and receive your reward, return to Nizhniy Semin to talk to the miller. As a reward for the quest, you will receive:

  • 85 groszy;
  • skill book "On soft cat paws 2".

Next quest - "Opus Magnum".

We hope this guide helped you figure out how to complete the Forbidden Fruit quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and help the gravedigger to get saltpeter for Kreisel. Write comments, if you encounter any difficulties or bugs while playing, we will definitely read them and try to help.

I have a bug: it doesn't want to try any saltpeter, I press the button, but nothing happens. Has anyone encountered the same problem? Can you tell me how to fix it?
