Via Argentum in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 — the seventeenth task from the main quest line, which takes place in the format of an investigation into illegal coin minting. In Kutna Hora, Henry learned that Ptacek was being held in Malešov, which had been taken from the old nobility. The former owner of the fortress, Kunzlin Ruthard, is ready to help free the hostage, but to do so, he needs to get rid of the threat in the person of Münzmeister Vavak.
Sir Ruthard has long been working on an investigation into the theft of silver from the mines, which Vavak is believed to have had a hand in. In this guide, we will tell you how to talk to Buresh, find evidence against Vavak, and get into the secret mint.
How to Start Via Argentum Quest in KCD 2
ing Liechtenstein in the mission "In the dungeon" Henry not only found allies within the walls of Kutna Hora, but also figured out Ptacek's location and a clue on how to proceed. The young nobleman told the protagonist that it was easy to find opponents of Sigismund among the old nobility who had lost their property. For example, the former owners of Malešov, the Ruthards, might agree to help save Ptacek.
Walkthrough of the Via Argentum quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
As part of the quest, help the mine manager Christian find a way to remove Vavak from his post as mintmaster. Using threats and cunning, investigate at which stage of the minting process the silver is disappearing. Go to the secret mint and try to free the prisoners, and when you return to Christian, agree or refuse to participate in the illegal business.
Go to the Ruthard Mansion
Visit the southern part of the city, where you will find a age in the square near the chapel. A cutscene will immediately start near it, and then the battle will begin.
Before visiting the Ruthard estate in Kutna Hora, prepare for battle by equipping weapons, armor and created a save.
Help the Ruthards
Deal with the royal messengers in yellow clothes to earn Kunzlin's respect and Roses Ruthard. Explain the reason for the visit and agree to deal with Vavak:
- "It's time for me to apologize."
- "We are on the same side!"
- "Nobody will know."
- "He does have a weak spot."
- "But you need proof?"
Find evidence against Vavak
To convict Mintzmester Vavak of counterfeiting, it will be necessary to investigate all stages of coin production: mining, processing of silver in the smelter, and minting. The main evidence against Vavak will be the secret mint ledger and the coin stamp obtained as part of the mission.
Talk to Christian of Pisek
Head to the mines southwest of Grunt, where you'll find a good friend of the Rukhtards. Christian Pisetsky is usually found by the fire in the main courtyard and will quickly agree to cooperate after the code phrase Via Argentum:
- "I will help you in your search."
- "My real father managed the mines."
After learning that Henry can be trusted, the man will suggest that they step aside to discuss the details. Go behind the house to talk to Christian alone:
- "They won't suspect anything?"
- "I will be an inquisitive scientist."
After completing the dialogue, you will receive a "Safe Conduct from Christian", which allows you to be on the territory of the mines. Go and ask the foremen of the three teams how many baskets were mined on St. Petronila's Day, to check the readings against the records in the ing books.
Find out how much Franek's sons got
Using the quest marker "F", find Foreman Franek inside the mine or on the surface - the characters in the area are constantly moving. Ask him about the life of a miner and casually ask how many baskets he managed to get on the memorable date:
- "What is life like for a miner?"
- "How much do you get paid?"
- "How much did you get for Saint Petronila's Day?"
- "Spill it, or I'll skin you alive!" - 13 Intimidation points are enough.
If you fail the check, use "What do you want in return?" and bring Franek 10 beer from the lightly locked crate. At the end of the questioning, you will receive the answer: 36 baskets.
Find out how much Samko's sons got
Interrogate the foreman in the red cap, marked on the map with the quest marker "H". In the morning hours, Samko is on the surface, but can also be in the mines. To get answers, you will also need to a simple Speech check: "You must obey Christian."
If you fail, you will have to pay 200 groschen or dice, so that Samko would finally agree to questioning. Carried away by Indro's interest, the foreman would blab information about the 34 baskets.
Find out how much Pavel's sons got
Opposite the main courtyard and the miners' tent camp, you will find the entrance to the mine, where the foreman Pavel resides.
Follow the corridors straight ahead until you reach the stairs to the floor below - all other forks will quickly end in a dead end. Go down and go to the tub, and then go along the right age to the end.
At the dead end, foreman Pavel reads prayers for a young man who died in the mines. Before you start asking questions, earn the man's trust:
- "There is no pain in heaven."
- "I will pray with you."
Use all dialogue options in the conversation and get an answer to your question - 30 baskets.
This time, go straight ahead to the end to climb the stairs to the next level. From there, turn into the eastern age and immediately go to complete the objective "Tell Christian what I learned from the miners."
You will find the manager in his quarters on the second floor of the building in the main courtyard. Check the miners' testimony against the information provided in the reports:
- "I found out how many baskets there were."
- "Less".
- "What are we going to do?"
Force Gerzhman to cooperate
In the adjacent room you will most likely find the ore merchant Gerzhman at work. Hint at him about big troubles:
- "We need to talk."
- "You are reporting false figures."
- "Don't be afraid to tell the truth" - all checks are easy to , but a positive one will provide an increase in reputation.
Tell the man to continue working and go to the second foreman in charge of ing.
Get Salo to cooperate
Based on the quest marker, find the foreman Salo and convince him to hand over the person behind the thefts:
- "A few words."
- "But you count the baskets."
- "You won't be punished" is the only answer that will improve your reputation.
Ask for silence again and head back to Pisek to complete the objective "Tell Christian what I learned in the mines." The man will explain that the next step is to investigate the smelter, but to do this you need to go to the guarded area.
Talk to Buresh
You can move around the smelter without any problems with the permission of the person responsible for the minting, Buresh. However, he will not even glance at a person whom he considers a dirty beggar. Christian explained in detail the criteria for choosing a suitable outfit for a meeting with the owner of the smelter:
- no armor or weapons;
- clothes must be clean and free of blood;
- The Charm characteristic of individual things should be high.
Starting wedding outfit will be good enough to the test, but if there is none left, go to the tailor in Kutna Hora.
Buresh of Krakowice is extremely picky about the main character's image, so even changing shoes with good Charm to more prestigious shoes can be a decisive action. There is no need to achieve a specific value of the characteristic.
You can find Buresh in the tavern in Grunt. When talking to the old man, pretend to be a nobleman interested in buying the mines:
- "I still want to check the price."
- "How many baskets do you melt per day?"
- "How many baskets of ore did you get delivered on Saint Petronilla's Day?"
- "I've been there" - get a reputation boost.
Explore the smelter
Go to the smelter area in the center of the settlement, start a conversation with any smelter and ask "Have you seen anything suspicious?" and "Does silver disappear from here?" You can explore the entire area if you want, but talking to a worker will immediately show it on the map smelter Shimu, necessary to advance through the quest.
Without wasting time on conversation, the man will offer to talk to Henry in a safe place. After greeting, use the following dialogue options to extract information from him:
- "Jindrich Bures sent me."
- "This is where the silver disappears."
- "They sent me to know" - Impression check.
The answer options change slightly depending on whether there were guards nearby - the main thing is to ask Shima about the missing silver.
Find Volmar
The smelter will send Henry to talk to Wolmar, who recently made a suspiciously expensive purchase of a stable in Grunt. Before talking to Wolmar, equip your armor and weapons for the battle and create a save if you took a break.
You can find the dealer at the entrance to his house. It turns out that the owner of the Buresh smelter has been keeping an eye on Indro for a long time and has prepared an ambush for him from three soldiers.
It is impossible to avoid the battle, but if you choose the option "I demand a fair fight!" You can challenge one of your enemies to a duel. The other opponents will be afraid of their comrade's death and will run away.
Behind the basket with firewood you will find Volmar. Find out all the information from him and ask for ransom:
- "It doesn't concern you."
- "Pay and go free" - get 100 groschen and reputation.
Find the Secret Mint
From Grunty, follow the main path east to the search area. The entrance to the secret mint, in turn, can be found in the south of the area. As soon as you approach it, a save will be created.
Obtain evidence against Vavak
There are three different ways to obtain evidence against Vavak:
- Agree to the bribe and defeat three soldiers in a fight. With the right skill, you can avoid the battle, quickly take the key and go get the ledger.
- Refuse the bribe and immediately enter the battle.
- Avoid meeting Buresh and the soldiers.
In the first and second cases head straight to the lit room to bargain with Buresh for silence:
- "I need evidence against Vavak"
- "How much will you pay me?"
- "Big bribe" - get 475 groszy.
- "Clear".
If you plan to avoid the battle, grab the key from the table and run straight. Otherwise, defeat the guards before visiting the mint.
For use third way Don't go into Buresh's room, but go straight along the left age to the door with a medium-complexity lock. At the first fork, turn left, then right.
In the room you will find captured minters and a chest with a medium-complexity lock. It contains 200 groschen and the mint's ledger.
Free the captured minters
After talking to the captured minters, you will additionally receive a coin stamp, and after asking the question "Why don't you want to leave?" - offer to free them. To do this, you will need to defeat three guards, if they are still alive.
By refusing to complete an optional objective, you will lose reputation twice - with the minters and with Christian.
Complete the investigation with Christian
Once you have the mint's ledger, return to Christian at the mines. Tell him all the information you know, and if you want to make money, agree to take the "reward" for the stamp:
- "I found evidence of Vavak's guilt!"
- "At the secret mint."
- "There were several minters captured there."
- "They gave me the stamp."
- "Continue".
- "Agree" - get 625 groschen.
In exchange for the "path of silver," Christian will give Henry the ledgers of the smelters, mines, and secret mint, which will be more than enough to blackmail and remove Vavak from office.
Next quest - "Leave in French".

What a horror, because of the "knight's spur" I ran around for half an hour looking for clothes, because this old fart didn't want to talk to me. And only after despair I decided to take them off because I didn't know what would help me anymore
