Coincidentally, shortly before the entrance ceremony, Sakura first stands up for Kotoha Tachibana, who was attacked by delinquents, and then comes to the aid of Akihiko Nirei, her classmate. It soon becomes clear that Furin students are loved and respected by the townspeople, because they protect the city and help its inhabitants.

The protagonist is accepted into the Bofurin group, protectors who always help out other people. Accustomed to judgment and sidelong glances, Haruki perceives with distrust such things as gratitude, love and care from his newly made comrades. At the same time, he is always ready to help others and stand up for what is right.

An important event of the season was the arc of confrontation with a group of Shishitouren - notorious hooligans, led by Choji Tomiyama, a young and ambitious guy trying to relieve boredom. The encounter with the of Bofurin helps to open up both Haruka and his comrades, and their opponents, each of whom changes something in their own worldview.

In the new season, Windbreaker can be expected to further reveal the protagonist and other of Bofurin.
