How to start the Under Siege quest in KCD 2
A few days after preventing Prague soldiers from entering Suchdol Castle, Zizka holds a military meeting, where he proposes to make a sortie and destroy the enemy's supplies. The commander gives Henry the task of choosing three of his men, as well as helping the Sukhoi Devil interrogate the prisoner.
Walkthrough of the quest Under Siege in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Having received the assignment from Zizka, together with Suhiy Devil try to extract as much information about the siege camp from the prisoner as possible. Having found out everything you need, talk to your men and choose those who will go on a sortie. Together with Ptacek's squad of riflemen, cover your fighters from the wall and help them complete the task of destroying the main strategic objects in the enemy camp.
Interrogate the prisoner together with the Devil
The first thing you should do is find out all the information you need for the sortie. Go out into the fortress courtyard and go down to the basement where the prisoner is being held. The entrance is under the stairs near the north-eastern wall of the courtyard.
Talk to Ginek at the entrance to the dungeon. You can begin the interrogation by selecting the phrase: "Can we begin the interrogation?". Dry Devil will warn that the prisoner will hardly be able to answer all the questions, as he is already wounded. Before starting, it is necessary to choose a tactic and decide which of the questions is more important:
- "Ask about Markvart and Mr. Bergov" — an important question for Indro, but of lesser importance for the sortie.
- "Ask about the weak points in their camp" — is the most important question, since the answer to it will help to find out a lot of useful information about strategically important objects.
- "I entrust this to you" - Hynek will begin the interrogation at his own discretion. He will ask about the weak points of the camp.
At the end of the dialogue, you can agree with Dry Devil, it will not affect anything. In any case, you can do without violence, winning the skill check.
Initially, the prisoner will refuse to talk. There are only two options to loosen his tongue: use violence or persuade. It is worth considering that the prisoner's condition allows him to be hit only once, so forcing him to talk twice by force will not work.
Based on your own characteristics, select one of the options:
- "(Hit him)" - use violence, after which the Prague resident will agree to answer the question.
- "(Leave it to the Devil)" - Hynek himself will hit the prisoner, which will loosen his tongue.
- "Sigismund betrayed you. Why should he remain loyal?" (persuasion) - medium difficulty level. To succeed you will need to have a sufficient level of eloquence.
- "We don't want to hurt you." (impression) - medium difficulty level. You will need to have enough charm to succeed.
- "Life is hard for cripples" (intimidation) - the hardest option. Works if Henry looks scary enough.
Next, exhaust all possible questions in the dialogue, and then select: "(Change topic)".
Ask the second question. The prisoner will refuse to talk and you will again have a choice of what to do with him:
- "(Hit him)" - if the prisoner has already been beaten to obtain an answer to the first question, he will not survive this blow and will not be able to answer.
- "(Leave it to Dry Devil)" - if violence has to be used a second time, Hynek will refuse to kill the prisoner.
- "We can't negotiate until we know who's in charge." (persuasion) - high difficulty level. It takes a lot of eloquence to get the prisoner to start talking.
- "Marquart is a personal matter for me" (impression) - medium difficulty level. With enough charm through clothes, you can easily get him to talk.
- "I have a pair of very large pliers here." (intimidation) - high difficulty. You will need to look quite menacing to succeed.
Once the prisoner agrees to talk, ask him all the questions you can. After the dialogue, Hynek will go to Zizka with a report.
Select people for the sortie
There are 6 people in Indro's squad. You can talk to each of them and then decide who will go on a sortie. It is worth considering that some of them may die in battle. Only Shmuel and Kubenka will probably survive, the rest may not return.
Talk to your people
There are 3 groups of 2 people in the castle. You don't have to talk to everyone, it's enough to send XNUMX to the gate. Walk around the fortress and choose who you want to send outside the walls:
- Talk to your men at the gate - Janek and Jaroslav of Skalitz are guarding the inner courtyard of the fortress.
- Talk to your men in the outer courtyard - Mikesh and Kozlik are waiting for orders near the outer gates of the castle.
- Talk to your people in the courtyard - Shmuel and Kubenka are waiting near the bathhouse near the lists inside the fortress.
The best ones for the sortie are Shmuel and Kubenka, as the most experienced. You can choose any of the four remaining ones. To send them to the gate to wait for the sortie, just talk to the right person and select in the dialogue:
- "I'm selecting people for the sortie."
- "I want you to go on a sortie."
Get ammo from Franzel
Before you begin the operation, you should Captain Frenzel at the forge. He will give you some shells for the firearms you use, so that you have something to shoot back at the Praguers with. In the dialogue, say: "I came for ammunition". Get 30 shells for the selected weapon.
Frenzel will tell you that you can get more ammunition if you manage to get the materials. Go to the forge to talk to the blacksmith. When you ask "Maybe I can help you with something?" he will ask you to collect old iron from the castle.
To complete this task, you need to find scrap iron in the fortress, from which you can make weapons:
- Go to the stable nearby and pick up two old horseshoes, a bag of nails and a broken pickaxe.
- Search the kitchen in the inner part of the fortress. Collect all unnecessary forks and kitchen knives from the tables.
Once you have collected all 10 necessary items, do not rush to leave the kitchen. Find Janos and tell him: "I came for provisions." Get your half of the ration: cheese, bread and dried apple. This is enough to satisfy your hunger and restore stamina.
Return to the blacksmith with the iron you found. Afterwards, you can approach Franzel and ask him for another 30 arrows or bullets.
Tell Ptachek and the shooters that the sortie is prepared.
Go to the southwestern wall where Ptacek stands with his squad of archers. You can get there through the western tower, up the stairs to the right of the lists. Talk to Jan and report your readiness. If the young gentleman asks if Henry ed to take the weapons from the forge, simply confirm that you are ready to attack.
If you come to talk to him without your own firearm, Ptachek will be indignant, but will offer Henry to take his crossbow or bow.
Shoot enemies from the walls
At Jan Ptacek's command, start shooting at the workers near the walls. They will run away as soon as they realize they are under attack. The shooters guarding them will run out to replace them. Try to kill as many enemies as possible to make it easier for Hynek and the others to complete their task.
As soon as allies appear (they can be recognized by the torches in their hands), try to help them and eliminate any threat. Even if you sent Kubenka and Shmuel on a sortie, one of the fighters can still die. To quickly neutralize enemy shooters, move along the wall and choose a comfortable position.
Neutralize the Pavizniks
Soon, cavalry with torches will head out of the fortress towards the village, and a detachment of enemy soldiers with pavises will approach the walls. They will line up in two rows and start shooting from behind their shields. Try to take a comfortable enough position to be able to hit the fighters over the pavises. Shoot back at them until the surviving remnants of the enemy begin to retreat.
Report to Zizka
Return to the courtyard and go up to the second floor of the fortress's main tower. Zizka can be found in the room on the right. Report to the commander about the successful raid. He will praise Henry for interrogating the prisoner well and suggest that you go and rest for now.
Before heading to your room, you can talk to Musa in the infirmary. Due to his unusual appearance, he can't cope with the wounded. The patient does not allow himself to be examined, fearing black magic. You can try to convince the fighter in one of the suggested ways. If successful, you will earn a reputation.
