The daughter of the Ruthards' house, Rose, provided maps and landmarks for searching for a secret age, and also asked to find a book in the fortress. In the guide, we will tell you how to find the entrance to the secret age in the quest Leaving in French, find a book for the girl and put Ptachek on a horse so that the escape turns out to be a success.
How to start the quest French Exit in KCD 2
Christian and Henry's investigation in the quest "Via Argentina" has borne fruit - now the Ruthards are not in any danger, and Münzmeister Vavak can be blackmailed into betraying Sigismund. An additional advantage in any negotiations will be the rescue of a hostage from a fortress controlled by Bergov, which will cast a shadow on him and weaken his position in political circles.
Walkthrough of the quest Exit in French in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Based on Rose's stories, find the ruins of the chapel and the age to the secret age to sneak into Malešov unnoticed. Under cover of night, take Ptáček and your new acquaintance to the stables and get to a safe place.
While you are in Maleshov, be sure to pick up the book for Rosa to strengthen your relationship with the girl and open access to the romantic line. If you do not do this, the task will automatically fail, and branch with a novel will close.
Report to Ruthards
Create a save, put on your armor and go to the Ruthard mansion in Kutna Hora during the day to deliver the good news. This time the front door will be locked, so ask the guard for an escort to the lord.
The dialogues in the first cutscene do not affect anything and do not provide any reputation gains.
The conversation will be interrupted by Shimek with a report about Vavak's latest visit. Münzmeister Oldřich will once again try to force the handover of the mines, but this time Henry and the Ruthards have an ace up their sleeve, answer Vavak:
- "You steal royal silver in large quantities."
- "I have seen your books." is a Learning test that requires 13 points.
If successful, you will increase your reputation among your allies, and if you fail the tests, you will have to defeat the Münzmeister and his men in battle. Oldřich will surrender under the pressure of accusations in any case, and Sir Ruthard will send Henry to find out about the secret age from Rosa.
Go up to the second floor and immediately find a girl eavesdropping on a conversation near the stairs. Talk to Rosa and ire her cunning to improve your relationship:
- "Roadside altar?"
- "Cleverly thought out."
- "I smell a catch."
- "Come with me!"
- "You are not a burden."
- "I'm listening."
- "Don't be afraid, I'll bring you the book!" - the secondary quest "The Book of the Rose" will begin.
If you wish, start the dialogue again to further increase your reputation.
Talk to Gastal
Before heading to the dealer Gastal, make sure you have a shovel and a set of stealth items in your inventory. Buy a shovel You can buy it from a vendor in Bilany, and from there head south to Maleshov.
To the west of the fortress, visit the merchant and tell him the following:
- "The Ruthards sent me."
- "Just get the horses ready for me" - the alternative option will require additional explanations to avoid losing reputation.
Having agreed on a mount for Ptachek, set off in search of the hole following Rose's hints.
Find the old chapel
Follow the main road west until you find a well-trodden path behind some boulders. Just before the cliff, you'll notice a small stone arch - an old chapel. Look through the "window" to see ruins in the woods.
Find the entrance to the secret age
Go down the path to the stream, cross to the other bank and go to the ruins. Below, to the east of the ruined building, you will find the first cross pointing north.
From the cross, go to the light trunk of a dead tree that stands out against the forest. Under it, you will find a second landmark pointing east.
Once you reach the clearing under the spruce, you will find a tombstone and, as a result, a secret age. Find the point of interest "Start digging" to the right of the stone slab.
To enter Maleshov through the secret age, move forward and stick to the left until you reach the door and the stone wall of the cellar. Make sure you have the stealth kit equipped and start getting the bricks. Jump into the age and reach the ladder to trigger a cutscene.
Find Jan Ptacek
After the cutscene, Henry will find himself on the western wall, and he needs to get to the upper floor of the central tower. Bergov took most of the garrison with him, and only seven guards remain in the fortress. You can either sneak past three of them or neutralize them to simplify the further course of the mission.
The first guard is in a lonely corner tower behind the door to the south, kill him if you want. To move around the area without hacking, go down the stairs to the wooden hut and take it from the cook Dragomira key from the fortress Maleshov, from the tower and from the chambers.
Move along the southern wall to the entrance to the tower. There will be a patrolling guard on the way - if you neutralize him, take the body to the cook's hut, as other soldiers will soon arrive. Turning the corner, you will immediately notice a staircase leading up to the main entrance to the tower.
Straight ahead is the dining room, where two guards from the second floor should go down. Wait until they finish talking with Mrs. Ofka, and slip into her chambers - the far left door on the second floor.
The girl can be similarly neutralized or forced to sit quietly by ing a simple intimidation check: "Don't move!"Ofka won't make any more noise, so you can explore her chambers in peace.
Pick up two swords from the front door, which you will later need to give to your allies as part of the "Find weapons for Ptacek and Brabant" objective.
You will find Jan on the top floor of the tower with a new ally, the Frenchman Waclain Brabant. Voice the carefully prepared plan to save Ptacek and learn about new circumstances:
- "What?"
- "This hole is the most reliable way."
- "Any ideas?"
- "I'll scout the way" - if you choose the alternative option, you will have to watch over the safety of Ptacek and Brabant the entire way to the stables; if they die, the game will end.
After the conversation, mandatory goals appear, following which you can escape from Maleshov in the classic way. However, there is also alternative path: knock Ptachek unconscious and escape through the secret age according to the original plan. The non-obvious option takes significantly less time and allows you to complete the quest without additional risks of being caught by the guards.
If you decide to use it, neutralize the only patrolman at the southern wall of the fortress, and also don't forget to pick up the book for Mrs. Ruthard until the end.
Return to the upper floor of the fortress to the lords and knock Ptacek unconscious using the "Strangle" action in a half-crouch ("C"). It is worth noting that the relationship with Jan will not deteriorate in case of failure, as well as after saving him.
After stunning him, all that's left is to carry Ptachek unconscious to the secret age. Go outside, walk along the southern wall to the cook's house and turn into the basement. Be careful, a guard sometimes walks along the northern wall of the tower.
This way you can leave Malešov and immediately proceed to the objective "Escort Jan Ptacek to safety".
Get the book Roses
Don't forget that in Malešov you need to find the book that Mrs. Rose asked for. In Ofka's chambers, take the "book with funny stories" in a red cover from the windowsill in the western part of the room. If you don't do this, then when you leave the fortress the task will fail and romance with Rose will become unavailable.
Put Jan Ptacek on a horse
To get to the horses safely, neutralize at least three more guards:
- The first one patrols along the wall between the courtyard and the stables, and can be ambushed on the western wall.
- You will find the second one near the tent camp, and the third one is standing above the gate, you should deal with him last.
Two more guards are not dangerous until the battle begins: the sleeping one in the dining room and the one at the southern wall of the castle. If you do not want to attack the enemies, then lead your allies to the horses, throwing rocks ("G") to distract their attention.
Once the path is clear, stand with the torch ("R") by the cart. Jan and Brabant will go down to the stable themselves.
Escape from Malešov with Jan Ptacek
Once you've made sure your allies have reached the horses, all that's left to do is open the gate. Go to the main entrance and open the bolt to trigger a cutscene.
Together with your allies, escort Jan Ptacek to safety. After ing the burnt Mežolezy, you will come across a detachment led by Rácek, Hanush and Boguta. Personally explain to them the situation with the message in Troski:
- "Everything went wrong from the start."
- “At first, Mr. Bergov received us kindly.”
- "He has a real temper, but he helped us."
- "We need to send a spy."
Having learned that Sigismund is convening a city council, the lords of Lipa instruct Henry to infiltrate it, while they themselves set off for a meeting of King Wenceslas' ers in Ratbož.
Next quest - "King's Gambit".

I recommend killing everyone who will be on your way to the tower when you go to Ptachek. I was looking for his room for so long, I thought it was somewhere in the basement, that all the sleeping people woke up and there were 3 times more enemies. Do not spare anyone, cut with a dagger, there will be less trouble
I stupidly killed all the guards in the open, but the game didn't notice it at all, the developers underestimate our recklessness))
