Where to find the Black Knives Assassins in Elden Ring
Dead Catacombs

General attacks

- Attack dash - the enemy quickly makes a dash forward, putting his weapon forward. One of the fastest skills in the arsenal, opening up his back to incoming attacks.
- Retreat - the main skill that the Assassin uses in between other attacks. Its essence is to strike, then jump back to deliver a new series of attacks.
- Knife in the back - in a situation where the Extinguished One allowed the boss to come from behind, the Killer will definitely inflict an enhanced backstab. One of the most dangerous attacks.

Sage's Cave
Killer from sage caves is invisible, which will cause significant difficulties: keeping track of the back is more difficult than with other bosses, therefore, attacks in the back will be much more frequent. How to defeat the Black Knives Assassin
General Tips
Never forget distance. The main trump card of the dark mercenaries - speed and darkness, so don't let them maneuver and never open your back if you don't want to get a knife and a lot of damage. In all battles, except for Alecto, be sure to use Spirits.
Close combat tactics
Assassins' normal attacks, such as stabbing or slashing, are byed by a normal dodge to the side, or a step back, depending on the speed of the Assassin's strike. While dashing with your sword out in front of you, take advantage of the moment and roll behind the enemy's back for a few hits. Pay special attention to the retreat and jerks of the boss, this is often a sign that there will be a combination of attacks now, or an attempt to stab in the back.
The speed of this type of opponent is also their weakness: low defense and health will allow the Extinguished to unleash a strong attack to throw off the balance without resorting to the use of heavy weapons. This technique will allow you to land a few more hits before the boss jumps back.
Ranged tactics
When fighting in ranged combat, everything is much simpler: it is enough to have a good shield and keep your distance. Strong spirits in large numbers will provide enough time to deal damage to the boss, but do not forget about the speed of the Assassins, otherwise the enhanced attack will not take long. Don't let the enemy take advantage of the darkness and get close too fast.
Tactics of the battle with Alecto
When fighting Alecto, you should use the same tips as with other bosses, but do not forget about her unique skills. In this confrontation, you will need to quickly react to what is happening, or die, but, fortunately, this boss has a bug that allows you to kill her without suffering.
After activating the call of the Leader, run back to the stones on the cliff. Having brought the girl to you, you will need to put her in such a position that she stands on the edge of the stones, close to the cliff. Now the boss is not busy with the Extinguished One, but with her uncomfortable position, from which she wants to get out. It remains only to attack her and not let her leave the bug's area of effect.
Drops from the Black Knives Assassin
Group bosses have different difficulty, so the rewards for killing them are different:
- After killing a regular Black Knife Killer, it drops 1 runes (Dead Catacombs and Catacombs of the Black Knife.
- For defeating the boss in the Sage's Cave, you will be able to get 9 runes and Veil of Concealment.
