The Type 62 is a Tier 7 Chinese light tank. This vehicle has a long history in World of Tanks, having previously been at tier 6 before being promoted. There are only two LTs of level 7 in the game, which is fundamentally different from the Chinese one. Firepower
We have an 85 mm gun with a one-time damage of 180 HP, which is pretty good for a LT of this level, the value is above average. 
Armor penetration by the basic armor-piercing projectile is a little depressing 145 mm - one of the minimum values. As a special projectile, the Chinese intelligence officer received a cumulative with 220 mm of armor penetration.
Ammunition characteristics
The projectile speed is low, so it will be more difficult to hit at a long distance.

Crew training for the Type 62

It is better to bet on increasing the invisibility of vehicles, therefore, from the general perks, we are the first to Camouflage. The tank has a fast reload, so it makes sense to put a Sniper on the gunner to increase the chance of critical damage to enemy modules. The king of off-road will reduce the resistance on the ground, which will allow you to gain maximum speed a little faster.
Repair at level 5, because Type 62 is practically devoid of armor, and like all LTs, it has a small margin of safety, so 4 seconds of waiting for repairs under enemy fire can be fatal for it, so it’s more efficient to use a repair kit right away.
Alternatively, you can abandon repairs altogether in favor of Firefighting in order to remove the fire extinguisher from the consumables and replace it with a national dish at +10% to crew skills.
Equipment selection for Type 62
If you set yourself the goal of farming silver, then the tank is quite capable of getting by with a standard set of consumables:
- small repair kit;
- small first aid kit;
- fire extinguisher (taking into the high fire hazard of equipment, it will still be more reliable to use automatic, besides, it will give 15% fire protection).
If the supply of credits allows, then improved equipment will increase not only survivability, but also combat effectiveness, and the third slot can be replaced with a national dish Improved Diet by +10 to crew skills until the end of the battle.
How to play Type 62

This choice of modules and skills allows the Type 62 to shine as a versatile fighter. Excellent visibility, which can be pumped up to 496 meters, will compete even with many level 9 tanks.
It is worth noting the good accuracy of the gun, which at the top of the list allows you to play a sniper. The types of shells also contribute to this: armor-piercing shells have good normalization, and cumulative shells do not lose armor penetration. You will have to get used to the low speed of the projectiles, therefore, when shooting ahead of the curve, you need to take a point for a shot further away.
In the middle and at the bottom of the list, due to low armor penetration, the base projectile is no longer particularly sniper, and yet you still need to play a role corresponding to the class of light tanks - reconnaissance. Type 62 does an excellent job in confrontations with other LTs due to its high rate of fire. You should try to realize this advantage when the enemy with a long cooldown has gone to reload or drive in from the flank in order to fire at the weakly protected areas of the enemy tank.
On some small maps, there is no need for highlighting, then it is better to skip high-level vehicles ahead and try on the role of a tank, for example, knocking down tracks when there is no way to deal damage.
Should I buy Type 62
This tank definitely deserves attention and is well suited for LBZ. There will be no fights with "dozens", and in the top of the list it will sometimes be possible to play against newcomers and inflict damage. According to the review (the most important indicator for the LT), it is not inferior to the M8D tier 41 tank, so why pay more?
Chinese light tanks have a good tier 6 Type 64 variant that can really impress at its tier and is always available for purchase, but it will require an extra crew member.
