Watch your step in Zenless Zone Zero: how to collect AIC data samples

Watch your step in Anton you have to take part to win many awards and help AIK.

You can take part in the event from July 24, 2024 until August 5, 2024. In the guide we will tell you in detail how to complete Watch your step in ZZZ and collect all the AIC data samples to receive a full list of rewards.

How to start the Watch your step in ZZZ event

The event will become available after the following requirements are met:

• reached 30 Internota level;
• completed quest "Dangerous Mission" from "Chapter 2 Interlude Story - Interlude."

When the conditions are met, a task of the same name marked “Event” will appear in the diary.

Listen to the argument between Anton and the Foreman

Start tracking the mission and move to Sixth Street. Listen to the argument between Anton and the Foreman: the guy and Banbu are standing to the right of the entrance to the video store.

During the conversation, the comrades will move to the video store. After finishing the conversation, use the HDD to go to the menu with the choice of cavern for exploration. In the lower right corner of the interface, click on the red icon and go to the orders available within the event.

In the section that opens, select the introductory stage - Drifting Cavity Exploration: Surface.

Next, we’ll look at the general features of the Watch Your Steps event: unique cells, different modes, and explain what AIC data samples are.

Navigating the Drifting Cavern

The main point of the Watch your step event in ZZZ is vertical gameplay. The proxy needs to move between floors, going up and down, to avoid all obstacles and get to the desired tier, collecting data samples along the way. There are 4 main cells in this mode:

1. Plot of land - a cage for movement. If you step on a field of this type, it will turn into a rift on your next turn.
2. Fault - a hole in a piece of land; when moving to this cell, the banbu will fall to the tier below.
3. age — a field that moves one tier below.
4. Outward Fault - a cage that allows you to climb to a higher tier.

Normal and hard modes

Each event level has two modes:

• Normal — the purpose of the order is to reach the various tiers of the Drifting Cavern. The final task is to defeat the ethereals at the end of the path.
• Difficult — to complete the order it is necessary to collect a certain number of “AIK data samples”.

Sample AIC data

Sample AIC data - a bag that contains polychromes and Denny. The item is key for Hard Mode; the reward for the stage in the event menu depends on the number of samples collected.

Drifting Cavern: Surface in ZZZ

Surface is the first stage of the event, introducing the basics of movement along a vertical cavern. In normal mode, you have to go through three tiers and then fight with opponents; in hard mode, you need to collect 5 samples of AIC data.

Research: Normal Mode

As you go through the stage, keep in mind that on the second and third tiers the floor collapses: if you stand on the square twice, you will fall down. To complete the stage, follow these steps:

1. Initially, go to the outward rift to go higher. On the second floor, go left, pick up the chest and fall to the first floor, visiting a cage with a crack in the ground.

2. Pick up the chest and head towards the rift. On the second floor, move to the next rift leading outside, as expected.

3.  On the third tier, go right to the purple chest. Go down below and, ing the cells with damage, go to the left corner. Go down to the golden chest and the exit where the Ethereals are waiting.

After fighting a group of enemies, Drift Cavern Exploration: Surface will be completed and a challenging mode will become available with generous rewards.

Hard mode

In hard mode you will need collect all AIC data samples on the surface of a drifting cavern. There are five of them in total:

1. Head to the central rift and go up to the second floor. The main task at this stage is to move to the third tier.

2. Go left and fall into the gap in the ground to drop down to the level below. Now step down and take away first sample of AIC data. Next, head to the damaged one to go down to the first tier.

3. If you fall through the crack onto the platform below, you will fall straight onto second sample of AIC data. After this, move to the rift located at the bottom of the corridor.
4. From the second sample, go down and use the rift to rise to a higher level. Step up and take it third package with sample data AIK. After this, fall into the descent hole again.

5. Go upstairs to move to the second tier. Then move right to reach the third floor.

6. Once on the top floor, go left to go down to the second floor. Move down to reach the first tier.

7. Returning to the first floor, move down again to go to the desired fault on the second floor. Reach it by taking a step to the right.

8. Now all that remains is to go right and reach the finish line to defeat the Ethereals and collect rewards from the event menu for all 5 samples of AIC data.

Drifting Cavern: Subsurface Stage in ZZZ

Drifting Cavern: Subsurface is the second stage of the event, in which the same objectives will be achieved, but now the task is complicated by the presence of conveyors and old mechanisms.

Research: Normal Mode

1. On the first tier the floor does not collapse and there is nothing to be afraid of here. Grace will show how the mechanism works by switching the conveyor. Go to the lower section and grab the purple chest, then use the switch and move towards the rift.

2. On the second tier, first go upstairs to switch the conveyors. Then step left and move down to the left side of the field. Take the chest and go up to the next mechanism. From there, move up, and then straight to the exit.

3. On the last, third tier there are three chests: two purple, one gold. It’s enough just to move in a circle, thus gradually reaching the center, where you can proceed to battle with opponents.

Hard mode

The hard mode of the second stage also includes puzzles with conveyors, but now you need to collect all the samples of AIC data on the near-surface tier of the drift cavern.

1. On the first tier, go right and switch the direction of the conveyors. Go down to the lower section and collect the sample. Then activate the mechanism sandwiched between the transport belts, and then simply move to the transition to the second floor.

2. On the second tier, collect a copy standing near the entrance to the floor. Switch the direction of the conveyors and go down to the lower tier. Once again climbing the second one, go to the upper central conveyor, and from the center take a step to the left. After picking up a copy, change direction and go to the third tier.

3. On the last tier, move down first to change direction. Then go right to the next switch, above it is an instance for AIC. Step left, then up to get to the center. Switching directions, take a step up, and then move towards the exit, collecting the last item along the way.

Drifting Cavern: Middle Tier in ZZZ

The middle tier is the third stage, its feature is the presence of pressure plates and drawers that need to be moved onto buttons to open the doors.

Research: Normal Mode

The normal Middle Tier mode involves climbing to the third floor, solving puzzles with boxes and buttons along the way.

1. On the first tier, Ben will show you how everything works on this level. Push the box to the corner, then go around the bottom and switch places with it. After that, move the box onto the button. Next, all that remains is to reach the purple chest and go to the second tier.

2. On the second tier, take a step up, and then push the box to the left until it stops. When you move it to the wall, go around the box from below, picking up the chest along the way. Now all that remains is to move the box upstairs to place it on the button.

3. Now all that remains is to go to the right to pick up the chest, and then head to the transition to the last floor of normal mode.
4. After moving to the third tier, move left to collect the purple chest. Then head straight down and place the first box on the button. After that, move to the second drawer, push it to the right until it reaches the second pressure plate.

5. Head to the previously closed room, take the golden chest and engage in battle with the ethereals to complete the exploration.

Hard mode

Hard mode, as usual, involves collecting five samples of AIC data.

1. On a difficult difficulty level, once you are on the first tier, immediately go to the rift to get to the second. Walk to the first instance and then take a step up. After that, go right and up to push the box onto the first floor.

2. Then move the second box into the second gap so that it falls down. After this, all that remains is to jump onto the first tier on your own.

3. Having jumped onto the first tier, go around the box where you fell, and then move into the previously closed sector. Take the sample and head to the second floor, but through another rise.

4. On the second tier, right next to the rise, there will be another specimen. Take it and head to the third floor. Go upstairs to get the fourth copy, then move right to push the box onto the button.

5. Go down the cage and go around the second box on the left side to place the item where the button was. Now all that remains is to reach the last copy and move the third box to the left to unlock the age.

6. Go straight through the open age to the finishing battle challenge cage.

Drifting Cavern: Depths in ZZZ

The fourth stage, Depths, features proxies interacting with bombs to create ages to rifts.

Research: Normal Mode

1. On the first tier, Anton will explain how the mechanics of this stage work. Push the first bomb down, putting it in a dead end. After this, move away to a safe distance so as not to take damage from the explosion. When the age is open, take the purple chest, then head to the rift.

2. On the second tier, first head to the upper right corner to pick up the chest. After this, take a step to the left and go down to the bomb. You can move it to the left now, or stand under it and move it up so that the explosion hits the walls. After that, move to the purple chest in the lower left corner.

3. While you are taking the chest, the bomb will explode and destroy the walls. Head towards the rift to get to the third floor.
4. Go down one cell, then move the bomb to the right so that there is one cell left between it and the right wall. Go upstairs and pick up the purple chest. The bomb will explode and destroy the second one, opening the age to the finish line.

5. Go to the golden chest in the lower left corner, then go directly to the exit from the location.

Hard mode

1. On the first tier of hard mode, first push the bomb down so that it ends up in a dead end. Move away so that the explosion does not hit the squad, then immediately follow to the second floor.

2. Once on the second tier, you will find yourself near a conveyor belt. Move the bomb forward so that it falls on the first floor and breaks the walls there. Immediately after this, go after her by jumping down.

3. Once back on the first floor, move left. Go to the previously closed location, take the data sample, and then jump into the rift. On the second floor, go upstairs to move to the third tier.

4. Go down and go right. Once level with the bomb, push the top of it so that it falls onto the second tier. After that, step right, step down and right to collect the sample. Go up to the second bomb and push it to the left.

5. Take a step left, then up, right and up, you can pick up another sample of AIC data. Head left to push the last bomb into the rift. When all the explosives fall into the previous area, go to the second tier through the damaged cell.

6. Pick up the last two data samples, then head to the rift in the upper left corner. Move straight to the finishing square with a combat challenge.

Drifting Cavern: Glacial Core in ZZZ

The final stage, Glacier Core, features interaction with the familiar boxes and buttons, but now they must be moved using spring mechanisms.

Research: Normal Mode

1. On the first tier, go and stand under the box, then, changing places with it, move it to the upper spring mechanism. Jump on it, and eventually you can go down to the cell below and pick up the chest. Move towards the rift.

2. On the second floor, first push the box on top, then head to the second one. Move it to the second button. Now you can collect the two purple chests and move on to the last floor.

3. The third floor will have to be visited twice. First push the box to the right. After that, go down using the mechanism and collect the gold and purple chest, then move to the box. Move it onto the button. All that remains is to jump to the second floor and rise again to go to the exit.

Hard mode

1. Move the box to the right so that it flies down. After this, push the box under the starting cage down to the spring mechanism. Now go to the square where the boxes and buttons are.

2. Arrange the boxes according to the buttons and through the top reach the copy of the AIC data. After that, head to the second floor.

3. On the second tier, first move the box under the door to the right. She will stand on the button. Go straight down and move the second box onto the spring mechanism.

4. Move up, collecting a sample of data along the way, follow the button and change places with the box. Now all that remains is to collect the second sample and move to the last floor.

5. First, go left, move the box to the upper left corner so that it flies to the button in the lower left corner. After that, step down, collect the sample, and then go around the box and slide it onto the button.

6. All that remains is to go down, then push the box onto the spring, it will fly up and the age will open. Take the last sample and move towards the exit.
