Netflix has released an epic and action-packed trailer for the new Devil May Cry anime, set to the catchy "Last Resort" by Papa Roach. The series is scheduled to premiere on April 3, 2025, and is being produced by the Korean studio Studio Mir and producer Adi Shankar. The title is an adaptation of the eponymous slasher game series from Capcom, and fans of the franchise have had high expectations for the project since the announcement. The story was previously adapted into anime by the famous company Madhouse, but fans almost unanimously rated their work as very average or even low, so the creators of the new series will have to try very hard to live up to the audience's expectations.
It is stated that the plot of the future title will be completely independent, and not a screen adaptation of the plot component of the original video games. The story tells of Dante, the so-called hunter of evil spirits, who has a difficult past and a complicated present. At a certain point, someone tries to open the gates between the human and demonic worlds, and the mission of saving both universes falls on the shoulders of this young man. The trailer showed a charismatic antagonist with the appearance of a scary rabbit, a charming Lady and her very comical acquaintance with the protagonist, and, of course, a number of memorable scenes with Dante, slightly revealing his character. The final shots are dedicated to the epic appearance of the protagonist's brother, Vergil, striding out of the flames.
