Chase in Books of Revelation and complete his story by meeting a “local.” The quest is made more difficult by the fact that it does not appear in the journal or on the map until the Traveler enters an unknown dimension through "meditation".
In this guide we will tell you how to start the Pursuit quest, as well as how to follow the shadow in an unknown location and continue the search.
How to start the Pursuit quest
In order to open the Pursuit task, you must fulfill several mandatory requirements:
- the quest "Secrets of the Book of Revelation";
- complete the quest chain "In the footsteps of Narcissus";
- complete the task "Through the Secret Mirror".
Then, when all the conditions are met, you need to go to the cave where the Book of Revelation is located. If the requirements have been closed a long time ago, Melusina Canotily will not be in place, and a quest mark will appear above the stand with the book.
If the conditions necessary for the quest were made quite recently, you will have to start it yourself.
After this, a marker should appear above the book: enter the world of meditation with the help of the Book of Revelation.
Approach the book and interact with it to be transported to the world that Melusina Canotila spoke about - to do this, go to the tripod and select the option "To read". When moving to a location, the “Chase” entry will automatically appear in the quest log.
Walkthrough of the Pursuit mission in Genshin Impact
Not finding Canotila in her usual place in the cave, the Traveler will go in search of her into the world of the Book of Revelation, assuming that Melusine has decided to settle in an imaginary space.
Follow the shadow
Once in an unknown location, you will see the shadow of Caterpillar. You won't be able to reach it directly due to the barriers located in the room. To approach the shadow, go around the room on the left side and get as close to the boy as possible. The ghost will move to another place, and the position of the obstacles will change. Return to the starting point and climb the stairs to the second floor.
Once on the upper level, immediately go right to pick up Lost bouquet, which will come in handy later. Return to the beginning of the stairs and approach the shadow standing on the balcony. The boy will evaporate again, opening the way further. Continue forward to the steps leading to the third floor.
The path to the top will be blocked by a grate, which can be opened using the Lost Bouquet found earlier. Insert it into the switch to remove the obstruction. Climbing up, you will again see the shadow of Caterpillar, the path to which is blocked by barriers. Enter the secret mirror nearby to find yourself on the other side of the wall.
Once you are close to the shadow, move closer to it and try to talk to what has the appearance of Caterpillar.
Follow the light
At the end of the dialogue, the ghost will dissolve again, and an air current will appear in the center of the room. Ride it up to the platform where the Caterpillar and the Little Dog stand and talk to the shadow. During the dialogue, an unknown creature will ask the Traveler to leave the world for his own good. At this point the hero will be sent back to reality.
Upon returning to Paimon's cave, the first part of the Pursuit quest will be completed and the following rewards will be received:
- 30 source stones;
- 250 points adventure experience;
- 30 000 pestilence;
- 2 hero experience books.
Speak with Canotile
Returning to the cave again rewind time twice a day or two to start the second part of the quest. If everything is done correctly, a quest marker will appear above the book. Enter the world by reading a few of its pages, find Melusine on the edge of the collapsed bridge and talk to her. Refusing the Traveler’s offer to leave this strange location, Canotila will go further, to the sunflower and the “Dog”.
Keep exploring
After Canotila disappears, start searching for her by going to the fragment of the bridge on the lower level of the location. At the site you will again find Caterpillar’s shadow, surrounded by barriers. To get to it, enter the secret mirror located nearby.
Once in a small room, go into another mirror to leave the location. At the exit the boy will be waiting instead outcast hilichurl. Fight the enemy and reduce his HP to half to force him to run away and open the path further.
After victory, a portal will open in the enemy's place. Enter it to be transported to Canotile standing on the bridge. Talk to Melusine and use another teleporter nearby.
At a new place, you will meet Caterpillar's shadow again. Enter the secret mirror on the right to be transported to a strange dimension.
Once in a place without floor or walls, continue towards the mirror opposite. At the end of the path, the invisible platform will break, and a wind current will appear as the character falls. Have time to open the glider to climb to the portal.
Instead of Caterpillar, at the other end of the mirror the hero will again be met by a rogue hilichurl. Fight him again to reduce his health to half. Once again the creature will run away, leaving a wind current in its place.
Go to the source of the sounds
After defeating the hilichurl, not only a wind current will appear in its place, but also another group of opponents. Without fighting them, you can rise into the air and fly to the portal above the ruins.
The teleport will lead to air currents and rings, with the help of which you will get to the platform where Canotila stands. For the last time, fight the hilichurl that attacked the melusine.
Wake up
After freeing Canotila from the hilichurl, you can talk to her and the “Dog”. Once again, an unknown creature will ask the Traveler to leave this world, taking Melusine with him. Once the dialogue is over, enter the portal nearby to be transported back to reality.
Once in the cave where you started the quest, you will receive the following reward:
- 30 source stones;
- 250 points adventure experience;
- 30 000 pestilence;
- 2 experience books hero.
Awards
For completing both parts of the Pursuit quest you can receive the following rewards:
- 60 source stones;
- 500 points adventure experience;
- 60 000 pestilence;
- 4 experience books hero.
