In this guide we will tell you where to find the sword and the hermit's grave in KCD 2 and how to forge a unique sword as a wedding gift for the young master Semin.

How to start the Hermit quest in KCD 2

The task is the last in the chain of missions of the blacksmith Radovan. It can be completed to get a to the festival in Semin and begin the story quest "Uninvited guests at the wedding". If you decide to go through the story by working at the mill, you can later return to the blacksmith and complete his chain. In this case, the "Walk" quest will be skipped, and instead you will immediately receive the "Hermit" quest.

Walkthrough of the Hermit quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Having learned that Radovan wants to forge a sword from welded steel for the lady's wedding, which is not so easy to obtain, set out in search of a rare weapon. The last time a blade made of such material was seen was with a certain hermit Ambrozh. Henry will have to investigate not only the story of the mysterious man, but also the devilish visions in Troskovitz.

Obtain the hermit's sword

Before starting the quest, during the conversation with the blacksmith about the sword and the hermit, try not to lose your reputation by choosing options that will not anger Radovan:

  • Semin takes Agnieszka as his wife.
  • Teresa is waiting for me.
  • We don't have good steel?
  • And where can we get such steel?

In the remaining dialogue, simply question the blacksmith and find out details about the hermit and the "devilish visions".

Once you've finished talking to Radovan, you can immediately go looking. the hut of Ambrose among the rocks of Apolena. The search area is already marked on the map, and asking the residents of Troskovice is not necessary. However, if you want to understand the situation more, find some valuable items and gain access to another quest.

Learn more about the hermit

Travel to Troskovitz to learn more about the hermit. The blacksmith has given Henry some clues that he can use to gain useful information. First of all, talk to the innkeeper BetaAs the owner of the tavern, she must be aware of all the events in the area.

Before asking questions, apologize for the fight you started earlier. Otherwise, she will scold Indro again for inappropriate behavior. However, this will not affect your reputation in any way, so you can immediately say: "I need advice about the hermit".

The woman will tell you that Ambrozh sold his soul to the devil and is connected to some visions that the villagers of Troskovice witnessed. In addition, Beta saw some suspicious individuals in priestly robes coming to the tavern, but hiding weapons under their clothes.

Find out the truth about the devil's visions

Before ending the conversation with Beta, select a phrase: "I want to ask about the hermit". When choosing further lines, the innkeeper will give more information and several clues for the investigation:

  • What do you know about this vision? — will tell about the shepherd Šafářík, who saw a horseman from the underworld at night in Apolène. This question will add new objectives "Talk to the villagers" and "Examine the cross".
  • Who saw the devil at that cross? — tells about the pharmacist's wife Gerta, who witnessed the strange incident with the cross. Adds an additional task to the journal "Talk to Gerta, the witness".
  • Where can I find a shepherd? - adds an optional objective "Talk to Šafářík, the witness."
  • How do I get to the hermit? - will tell you where to look for Ambrose's hut in Apollin.
  • What kind of hermit is this anyway? — will not add any additional tags, but will tell the story of the hermit’s appearance in these parts and why everyone around thinks that he sold his soul to the devil.
  • Where did these aliens come from? — Beta believes that the strange priests were inquisitors sent by the bishop.

All the optional tasks you receive can be completed in any order. This will unlock the optional quest "Sinful Soul", which can easily be missed. In addition, completing all the objectives of the quest will help you get more rewards at the end.

Talk to the villagers

The first thing you should do when investigating is talk to the villagers. Go outside the tavern gates and walk down the street, looking for people to talk to. One of the NPCs that can complete this task is drunkard YezhekFind him in the tavern, on the street or near his house in western Troskovice.

During the conversation, ask: "What happened at the cross?". The man will send Gerta to ask about this, and the task will be completed. You can ask him other questions, but he will not say anything new or noteworthy.

You can also ask a few questions Bar, begging on the streets of the village. During the day, she can be found near the village hall.

Talk to Gerta, the witness

At the next stage, it is best to talk to the pharmacist's wife, as Gerta can tell you the exact location of the cross so that you don't have to look for it yourself. Finding the girl is not difficult, as she spends most of the day in the yard of her house, and her exact location is indicated by a quest marker on the map.

Go to Gerta and ask her what she saw at the cross. The girl won't want to talk about it, so you'll have to convince her. With a high chance of success, you can do this with the help of eloquence, choosing the option: "I would like to help you". If you fail a persuasion attempt, you can go back and try again. A little reputation will be deducted for each failure.

In the continuation of the dialogue, select the following lines:

  • How did the devil appear to you?
  • Where did the devil appear to you?
  • I'll find out what happened there.
  • I don't know yet.

This conversation will allow you to find out the exact location of the peace cross where the incident took place. In addition, Gerta will promise to reward Henry when everything is over.

Inspect the cross

Get yourself some shovel and, having learned the exact location of the reconciliatory cross, head to it. The desired location is in a small undergrowth to the west of Troskovice. To examine the cross, hold down "left Alt" - Henry will give a few comments, after which you will need to dig up the grave.

When you dig the hole, it will become clear that someone has already dug here recently. At the bottom of the hole you will find a bag with the property of the Knights of the Cross. You can take everything you found for yourself.

"Chronicles of the Knights of the Cross" will add experience to the base level, so be sure to read the book.

Talk to Safarzhik, the witness

The last optional objective is to talk to Šafářík. Travel to Apoléna, east of Troskovice. You will find the shepherd just south of the road, near the sheep grazing. In the dialogue, select: "They say you saw the devil".

Safarzhik will simply refuse to talk about this topic. You can bribe him by choosing:

  • Would you like a sip of vodka? - If you have schnapps in your inventory, you can instantly loosen the shepherd's tongue.
  • I will give you money (12) — offering pennies for information is almost always a win-win option.

You can try other persuasion options, but you need to have a fairly high skill for this.

Once Safarzhik agrees to answer questions, choose the following lines:

  • What exactly did you see at the crossroads that night?
  • Why would the devil visit a hermit?
  • Why would a hermit sell his soul to the devil?

All the necessary information will be clarified after the first question, so you can simply end the conversation.

Find the hermit

Having collected all the available information, you can begin searching for the hermit. On the way, look into the forest to explore Apolena, following a new optional objective. Go to the right of the road and find a ruined hut and a corral with a black horse. The location is approximately in the center of the search area. To complete the objective, climb over the fence and examine the horse for the button "E".

Head to the rocks where the villagers say the hermit has settled. His hut may be difficult to find as it is well hidden. Turn off the Apolena road onto the path along the stream and head up until you reach the point of interest. "Source of Water".

Take the trail north and continue until the next turn. Go between two rocks and you will find yourself at a small crossroads. Here you need to turn south.

Follow this path and find an inconspicuous age between the rocks. Inside there will be a hermit's house.

Talk to the man. If you have investigated all the clues before, you will be able to choose the following lines:

  • There are strange rumors about you...
  • There was a hiding place under the cross of reconciliation.
  • In the hiding place was the cloak of the Knights of the Cross.
  • There was money in the hiding place.
  • I found the papers of the knightly order!
  • I found a black horse.
  • Confess! (Press).

If enough evidence has been gathered, the hermit will tell the truth that Ambrozh is dead and ask you to deliver a message to the widow. This task is related to the skippable quest "Sinful soul".

It is better to save before going to the hermit, as he may be aggressive. In this case, it is better to leave his hut and wait for some time. If you kill the man, you will not be able to receive and complete the quest "Sinful Soul".

Go look for the widow. She may be in Troskovitsa or in the cemetery near Apolena, depending on the time of day. After delivering the message to Marketa, you will automatically complete the first part of the quest "Sinful Soul". You can complete it completely or immediately return to the hermit and figure out what is going on here.

Kill the hermit or spare him

On your way to the hermit's hut, you'll come across the Knights of the Order of the Cross, sent to kill the impostor. If you plan to help the crusaders, choose the following options by holding Q:

  • Who are you?
  • Offer assistance.
  • I will help you.

The knight will explain that the impostor needs to be distracted. To do this, sneak into the hermit's yard and set fire to the haystack on the right. To prevent the hermit from noticing, as soon as you between the rocks, turn right and sneak behind the pile of firewood. Click "E" next to a pile of hay to set it on fire. Immediately after this, a battle with Konrad will begin, but you won’t have to fight alone, as the knights will arrive. After the fight, you will be able to talk to one of them and receive a reward 85 groschen.

If you want to help the hermit and not kill him, go into the yard and talk to him from afar, holding "left Alt". Select options "Enter into negotiations" и "I need a sword", after which he will allow you to approach and talk to him close. During the conversation, choose the following lines:

  • Where is Ambrozh's broken sword?
  • That's all I wanted to know.

After this, the opportunity to make a choice will appear again. To help him, choose "I will help you". If you choose "You're right! (Attack)", the battle on the knights' side. After the fight, the surviving Conrad will give you a reward 85 groschen.

Find another thread

If Conrad died without telling where to look for Ambrozh's grave and his sword, you will need to find additional clues in his hut. Go inside and up the stairs to the second floor.

Find three bags in the corner that can be moved and move them one by one to another location.

All that remains is to read the diary of the knight Konrad. On the last page you will find information about the burial place of Ambrozh.

Find the hermit's grave

Based on the description you received from Conrad, set out to find the hermit's grave. Regardless of what information you learned, the map will not show a specific point, but a search area. Based on the description, you need to look for a pile of stones near two gnarled birches on the edge of the meadow north of the shack.

Go to the designated point and take the sword stuck in the grave. If you wish, you can dig up the burial, but nothing particularly valuable will be found on the hermit's body.

Take the sword to the blacksmith

Go to the blacksmith with the weapon you found and complete the quest. The customer can be found in the same place - in Tahov's forge.

Talk to Gerta

Once you give the sword to the blacksmith, you may also that Gerta promised a reward if you find out what really happened. Return to the pharmacist's wife in Troskovitz and tell her what happened. If you can provide evidence, such as Konrad's diary, the girl will thank you and give you a useful skill book - "On alchemical treatises 2".
