Briefly about the events of the previous season
Young Mao Mao lives in the red light district and, thanks to her adoptive father Luomen Hanyu, is good at apothecary, coupled with a thirst for knowledge. The girl even experimented on her own hand, which is why she acquired good resistance to poisons.
Mao Mao's fate takes an unexpected turn when she is kidnapped by slave traders and sold into the courtyard of the imperial palace. However, the girl was not taken aback and decided to quietly and peacefully serve the allotted time and return home. Being literate, the smart person hid this, not wanting her kidnappers to receive more money.
When the emperor's children suddenly fall ill, she realizes that the cause lies in the poisonous powder and decides to anonymously warn the concubines. The wise Gekue did not ignore the message and thereby saved her daughter, but Lihua did not take it seriously, as a result of which her son died.
Gekuye asked the mysterious employee Jinshi to find out the identity of the savior, and he quickly ed Mao Mao. The concubine had a good understanding of people and therefore took the pharmacist’s daughter to her as a food tester for poisons. Jinshi began to use Mao Mao's knowledge of medicines and her insatiable curiosity to analyze strange events. At the same time, the young man warmed to the protagonist and repeatedly came to the rescue in difficult situations. An important matter for Mao Mao was the treatment of Lihua, who, after healing, thanked the girl and expressed her affection.
During the intrigue surrounding the departure of the eldest of the favorites, Ado, who was suffering from infertility, Mao Mao learned about her father's past and exposed the maid Fengming, who was secretly trying to help the mistress remain in the harem. Because of these events, the heroine was fired as being related to the criminal’s family, and she returned to the brothel. Later, Jinshi bought her from the brothel, and Mao Mao began to live with him. In her new role, she gets even deeper involved in the crimes and incidents of the court, tied to poisons and medicines.
What will happen in the second season of The Pharmacist's Monologue
Watching season 2 of the anime Monologue of a Pharmacist will be very exciting, and most likely it will start from the third volume. Mao Mao must ensure Gekuya's safety during her pregnancy, while Jinshi faces an unusual request from two ambassadors and an important meeting shrouded in danger and secrecy.
