Horse in Ghost of Tsushima - The main means of transportation in the game. Before entering the open world, after the end of the prologue, you will find yourself in a stable, where you will have to choose a horse with which you will spend your entire journey. The characteristics of pets are hidden, so the question immediately arises of which stallion to choose.
In the guide we will tell you what is the best horse in Ghost of Tsushima, is there a difference between them and how to change the horse during the game.
All the horses in Ghost of Tsushima
In total, there are 3 basic horses and 2 exclusive ones, which are issued after certain conditions are met:
- Raven (black).
- Gray (white).
- Gray in dapples.
- Bay (brown) is a horse from the Deluxe Edition, also available in the Director's Cut, that is, all players have it on PC.
- Black with bright red mane and tail - will be available if you pre-ordered or started New Game +.
The horse will remain until the end of the game, so you should figure out in advance how a gray horse, for example, differs from a bay horse.
Which horse to choose in Ghost of Tsushima
When trying to choose the best horse in Ghost of Tsushima, keep in mind that there is no difference between them other than appearance and name. It will also not be possible to upgrade the animal, just change the saddle, which is a purely visual change. Even if you use only enemy horses during the game, you will not feel any difference in speed, obedience, or anything else - there is so little difference between the horses in Ghost of Tsushima.
What to name a horse
When you get your first horse, you will need to give it a name. There are 3 options in total:
- Kage ("Shadow").
- Sora ("Sky")
- Nobu (“Trust”).
The names of the horses, like their suit, do not affect anything. However, please note that you will not be able to change your name in the future.
How to change horse in Ghost of Tsushima
The only way to change a horse at the moment is to start a new game and choose a different horse in the prologue. This option is suitable if you haven’t gone very far in the plot, but in order not to go through the beginning of the story again, you can the save Horse Selection Save with Nexus Mods, then after launch you will find yourself at the stage of choosing an animal.
In the prologue, a warning appears that the chosen horse will accompany the character to the end of the journey. Perhaps in the future they will make a mod that will allow you to change the horse in Ghost of Tsushima at any time, but before that you will have to constantly start the game over again.
Can a horse die
The horse in Ghost of Tsushima cannot die: multiple hits from the enemy, fire, water, falling from a cliff - all this will only affect the character’s health and will not affect the horse in any way. However, some players encountered a bug that caused the horse to fall to the ground and not want to get up again. If you try to summon an animal, it will appear nearby in a lying position - it looks as if the horse has died.
In fact, this is not death, but just a bug, so it is still possible to return the stallion to its normal position and saddle it again. If your horse appears to be dead, try the following:
- Reload the game from the checkpoint.
- Let the character die in battle.
If rebooting doesn't help, there are only two options left - use other people's horses for the rest of the game, or start over.
We hope the guide helped you choose the best horse in Ghost of Tsushima and figure out whether there is a difference between them. Write comments, if you have any questions, and read others Ghost of Tsushima guides in the relevant section of our website.
