How to start the King's Gambit quest in KCD 2

After rescuing Mr. Ptacek from imprisonment in the Malešov fortress as part of the mission "Leave in French", the friends go to rest. However, on the way they meet Pan Hanush and Racek, who have arrived in Kutna Hora together with Father Boguta. They head to Ratborzh, where Jobst gathers allies to discuss a plan to confront Sigismund.

Ptacek and his newfound friend Vaklen, along with the others, go to a meeting in Ratborzh, and Henry receives a special task - to infiltrate the meeting of the Kutnagorsk council, which will be attended by Sigismund himself.

Go to Kutná Hora and figure out how to get to the council meeting. Müntzmeiser Vavak will tell you that you can do this as a royal servant. Get a letter of commendation and servant's clothes, and then go to the town hall, where you will serve the councilors and the self-proclaimed king wine.

At the same time, as Father Boguta, attend a meeting of Vaclav's ers and fulfill Liechtenstein's request to find allies. Gain the favor of influential people by completing small tasks for them.

Talk to Mintzmeister Vavak

The first thing you need to do is find out from Münzmeister Vavak how to get into the city council. Before you leave, you should eat and sleep in the nearest tavern. Especially if Henry was wounded in the previous quest. The closest is Bilany. By paying the tavern maid 5 groschen, you can get a place to sleep in the hayloft.

Obtain a charter and the outfit of a royal servant

To continue the mission, you need to get a certificate and a special outfit - you can get these things from Cooldown's Dandies. Vavak reported that the guy can be found in tavern "Iron Eagle", where he spends most of the day. In the mornings, Frant goes to the market in front of the Hanged Man's and buys fabrics from a tailor from about 9 to 12.

There are several options for obtaining the necessary items. Depending on the situation, you can choose any of them. However, the best choice would be to try to convince the guy to give up the outfit and the certificate. Before the conversation, it is better to save, as there are several skill checks ahead.

Talk to Frant and try to convince him to give the items. In the dialogue, select the phrase "I'll do all the work". You will then need to one of the suggested skill checks:

• "I have important news for the king." - impressiveness works well if Henry is wearing armor and looks like a knight.
• "I want to see the king with my own eyes" - a high level of eloquence is required.

Buy

If you fail to convince Frant to give away your items for free, try saying: "Don't worry about that. How much do you want?". The guy will ask for 1000 groschen. You can pay and get the items, but it is better to a new skill check for impression - answer: "Think of it as an investment.".

The easiest way to impress is to collect a lot of charm through clothing. You can use the things you wore to talk to Buresh in the quest "Via Argentina"If successful, Frant will give the items away for free.

Steal

You can try to steal the clothes and the letter from the wallet of the Frant when he is alone. The most convenient time to do this is when he is sitting in the tavern or sleeping on the second floor of the barn behind it. If you cannot steal things while the Frant is conscious, you can knock him out. The task requires 4 items:

• royal waiter's cap;
• royal waiter's caftan;
• royal waiter's tros;
• charter of the royal attendant.

Report for duty

Once you have everything you need, head to the town hall. To get to the city council, put on a cap, caftan, and pants. All armor must be removed. Go inside and talk to the mayordom.

• Take the desired jug from the table. Their colors correspond to the color of the drink.

• Hold "Q" and "1" to pour.

The only advisor who is not allowed to pour wine is Adam of ZarzyciIf he asks for alcohol, hold back. "Q" and select option 3: "I am forbidden".

Bring the confiscated cup to Bailiff Plumel

After some time, Henry will call out to Bailiff Plumel. Go to him to find out what he wants.

Plumel's office is at the opposite end of the conference room. Go up the small stairs and through the door.

Find and bring Franz Rosenthal's gloves

Continue pouring wine until Henry is approached by Franz Rosenthal. He asks the waiter to bring him the gloves he left in the chapel. He also wants Henry to count the number of winged figures in the frescoes.

Find Gaman Alder behind the screen in the bedroom. He is talking to Martin, the owner of the fortress and Boguta's father. If you try to talk, Sir Oderin will not let you do so. You can avoid losing reputation by choosing the following answers:

Go out into the yard and find Hanush of Lipa. He is standing near the stables in the company of Racek and Sukhoi Det. Talk to him, after which the gentleman will immediately agree to the wedding.

Talk to Liechtenstein about the agreed

Once you have all the right people on board, tell Jan Lichtenstein and Margrave Jobst about this. They are currently discussing the plan on the second floor of the fortress.
