Key to prayer room Elden Ring opens a room in the flooded church of Shadow Haven. This item is needed to complete the Fire Knight Quilain side story in Shadow of the Erdtree and receive the reward.

How to get the prayer room key in Elden Ring
To get the desired item, you need to meet a hostile phantom named Fire Knight Quilain. In the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, there are only two places where this phantom invades the player's world:
- Belurat, settlement near the tower. From the Small Private Altar grace, go up the steps to the fork patrolled by the Horned Knight, defeat him and proceed to the tree garden to the northeast. As soon as you enter the garden area, Quiline will invade. For defeating him in the first meeting, you will receive the Emblem of the Sacred March, which increases damage by 20% for 15 seconds after killing any enemy.
- The Temple of the Sacred March is a small temple to Marika in the southwest of Shadow Haven. Once there, you will encounter Quiline a second time. By defeating him, you are guaranteed to receive Ashes of War: Blazing Wind. A couple were also left in this location Shards of the Tree of Decadence, increasing the character’s defense and attack in the expansion territory.
The sequence of visiting locations does not matter; the key will drop out after the second victory over the knight.
How to use the prayer room key
The door that opens with the key is located in the Flooded Church District of Shadowhaven, a location that can only be reached with eastern entrance to the fortress.
Where to find the door to the prayer room
Head to the eastern entrance, which leads to the Sunken Church District, an area of Shadow Haven that cannot be reached if you enter the fortress through the main southern gate. The entrance to the district is in the eastern part of the Shadowfell, near the Cathedral of Mother Metir, visited as part of Ymir's quest line.
To reach this area, go into the depths of the Ruins of Murtagh, go down into the cave leading to Bonny Village, ride from the village east along the rope bridges to the "Bridge Leading to the Village" grace, from there follow the Stream north through the forest, where wolves live, after which they by Giant Furnace Rise to Grace Church District Highway. The entrance to the Flooded Church District is located northwest of said grace and is visually noticeable.
After entering the district, walk along the roofs and tops of the ruins on the right side of the location, as seen from the entrance:
- First, jump to the spired roof with crabs walking on it.
- From the roof, jump to the square ruins.
- Walk along the edge of the ruins to the northern outer wall of the district and jump onto the platform protruding from it. Beware of burning, exploding corpses crawling out of the platform.
- From the platform near the wall, jump to the roof of the building patrolled by the fire knight Messmer the Impaler.
From here the goal is to climb onto the flooded county church.
Take a running jump to the outer semi-arch of the church, then climb to the roof and jump inside the building through the hole: first onto the arched stone ceilings, and from them, through the gap, to the second floor, which is not subject to flooding. At the landing site, look north and see a wooden door with metal bars - the prayer room in the Elden Ring is behind it.
What's in the prayer room in Elden Ring
In the prayer room, the real Quiline lies on the floor, with whom the player had met two times before in the guise of a phantom. It is clear that the character is completely bad, but the player can influence his last moments by giving him one of magical irises:
- By giving the Iris of Grace, you will receive the ashes of the Fire Knight Quilain as a reward.
- By giving the Iris of Darkness, you will acquire a heavy rapier with fire damage - Quiline's Two-Handed Handler.
Quiline's reaction to irises is different: the knight is a follower of Marika, so he will only react positively to the Iris of Grace.
