Basic skills
Hook's abilities deal explosive damage to single and nearby targets, and are also effective at penetrating fire armor. In addition, the heroine can, with a certain chance, impose the Burning status on opponents, in which they will begin to receive periodic damage. Next, we will analyze in detail how all the Hook skills work, and in what sequence it is better to pump them.
Active skills
- Technics "Ack! Look at This Mess! »
Lands a strike and at the start of combat, deals Fire damage equal to 100% of attack power to a random enemy target. Also has a 50% chance to apply the Burning status to all enemies for 3 turns. While under the effect of Burning, the enemy will take periodic fire damage equal to 50% of their attack power at the start of each turn.
- Basic AttackHehe! Don’t Get Burned!» (single attack)
Deals fire damage equal to 50-130% of attack power to the selected target.
- Skill "Hey! Hook?» (single attack / explosion)
Single attack
Deals fire damage to an enemy equal to 120-300% of attack power and inflicts the Burning status for 2 turns. At the start of each turn, the enemy will take periodic fire damage equal to 25-81,25% of Hook's attack power.
Explosion
Deals fire damage to an enemy equal to 120-350% of attack power and inflicts the Burning status on them for 2 turns. At the same time, nearby enemy targets also take fire damage equal to 40-100% of attack power. At the start of each turn, an enemy with the Burning status is dealt damage over time equal to 25% of Hook's attack power.
- Superpower"Boom! Here Comes the Fire! » (single attack)
Energy: 120
Deals fire damage to an enemy target equal to 240-480% of attack power. After using the super ability, the next activation of the skill is strengthened and deals damage to the selected enemy and nearby targets.
ive skills
- talent"Ha! Oil to the Flames! » (gain)
Attacking an enemy target with the Burning status deals additional fire damage equal to 50% of attack power and additionally restores 5 energy.
The order of leveling abilities
When pumping skills, Hook is recommended to give priority to superpowersto deal massive instant damage to a single enemy target. Then, parallel to each other, we increase the level skill и talent - This will allow you to deal more damage to multiple opponents and increase the DPS from the Burning status. Therefore, if the Mole boss acts as a secondary damage dealer, skill and talent become more relevant. Basic Attack most often needed only to restore skill points, so it rises last.
Tracks
Hook's footprints boost important stats such as critical damage and attack power, which not only makes it easier to build, but also ively increases the damage dealt. At the same time, ive talents are unlocked that increase the dynamics and survival of the character during the battle.
Attack power +4% (lvl.1) | |||
Innocence: Each time the talent is triggered, 5% HP is restored. | HP +4% (A2) | Attack Power +4% (A3) | Crete. damage +5,3% (A3) |

Eidolons [constellations]
All Hook Eidolons:
number | Name | Materials |
1 | Who goes to bed early, gets up early | ed skill (explosion) damage is increased by 20%. |
2 | Happy tummy, happy baby | The duration of the Burning status inflicted by the skill is increased by 1 turn. |
3 | Don’t Be Picky, Nothing’s Icky | Skill level +2. The maximum level is 15. The level of basic attack +1. The maximum level is 10. |
4 | It’s Okay to Not Know | 100% chance to trigger the talent to apply the Burning status similar to the skill to the targets adjacent to the enemy. |
5 | Let the Moles’ Deeds Be Known | Superpower level +2. Talent level +2. The maximum level is 15. |
6 | Always Ready to Punch and Kick | Hook attack damage against Burning enemies is increased by 20%. |
The best constellations Hook - E1, E4 and E6:
- Feature first eidolon: increases the skill - one of the main sources of damage of the "Moles" boss. Given that the shard is at the very beginning, this is the most affordable DPS boost.
- Feature fourth eidolon: Allows you to apply the Burning status to multiple enemies. A great addition to increase AoE damage. Since initially the Hook is weaker in AoE, and the eidolon gives her the opportunity to better open up from different angles.
- Feature sixth eidolon: Increases damage against enemy targets under the Burning status, which in turn affects all damage dealt - both permanent and periodic.
Advantages and disadvantages
Consider all the "pros" and "cons" that you may encounter when playing for the leader of the "Moles".
Advantages | Disadvantages |
High burst damage for one target makes Hook an excellent damage dealer (both main and secondary). Especially if there is not enough fire DPS to break through the corresponding vulnerability. | Despite the fact that the skill's "explosion" attacks several opponents, it mainly damage is focused on single targets. Specifically, until the 4th Eidolon is obtained, Burning only affects one enemy. |
Imposes on opponents status Burningwhich can be maintained on an ongoing basis. This allows you to deal periodic damage, helping the team outside the battlefield. | In order to reveal the full potential of the character additional investments required: ranging from legendary relics and weapons to complete awakening. But even in this case, at later stages it may be inferior to other heroes with massive or single damage. |
Has an average energy cost ult (120 units). At the same time, she restores her energy with talent and the third trace, “Playing With Fire... Works.” Thus can gain enough energy to activate a superpower almost every turn. | Takes time to build up power, which can be detrimental in modes where time is of the essence, e.g. oblivion hall. |
Convenient character for beginners due to simple but effective mechanics. Exaltation materials and the best sets of relics can also be comfortably farmed from the very start of the game. |

Best Hook builds in Honkai: Star Rail
Hook follows the Path of Destruction and is therefore a versatile DPS character. Possesses DoT-mechanics - with the help of a technique and a skill, it imposes the Burning status on one enemy (or several targets in the presence of the 4th eidolon), causing periodic damage. In addition, thanks to the talentHa! Oil to the Flames! » Damage against such targets increases and restores energy.
All damage, including Burning damage, depends on attack power и fire damage bonus, therefore, when assembling Hook, first of all you should pay attention to these characteristics. As with any damage dealer, critical damage, crit chance. hits и speed are also important indicators.
In this section, we will look at how to assemble the Hook in Honkai: Star Rail.
Recommended characteristic values
The main stats that are recommended to look for in relics:
Relic | Main characteristic |
Head | HP (permanent) |
Arms | Attack Power (Permanent) |
Body | Crit chance. hits - a priority / Crit. damage -secondary |
Legs | Attack Power - a priority / Speed - secondary |
planar sphere | Fire damage |
Connecting rope | ATK |
Additional characteristics:
- Chance. crit hit and crit. damage.
- Attack Power.
- Speed.
- Breakthrough effect.
Optimal stat values:
- Chance. hit crit / crit. damage - ratio 1:2 (50% CV and 100% CL).
- ATK – from 1900 units and above.
- Speed – from 120 units and above.
- Penetration effect - up to 50%.
Ultimate Light Cone [Weapon]
The Hook weapon must match the Path of Destruction for the ive effect to take effect. Among the amplifications and bonus characteristics are desirable (in order of priority):
- Attack Power.
- Increased damage dealt.
- Chance. crit hit / crit. damage.
Name | Description | Recommendation |
---|---|---|
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 48-1058 ATK 24-529 DEF 18-396 |
When the wielder attacks, the weapon increases its attack power by |
One of the best light cones for Hook, as it increases attack power by up to 64% in total (at R5). The only thing is that to get the maximum bonus to attack power, you need to attack opponents several times, and to increase damage, you need to break through a vulnerability. Despite this, the weapon remains quite strong, since the first condition is automatically fulfilled during the battle. |
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 52-1164 ATK 26-582 DEF 18-396 |
Increases attack power by |
An excellent light cone that combines offensive and defensive effects. The buff to attack power is ive, but the second part requires you to defeat the enemy or take damage. Shield can help with this. March 7 or placing the Hook next to the tank character if the enemy has an AoE. |
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 48-1058 ATK 28-635 DEF 18-396 |
Increases crit. owner's chance 18-30%. When the bearer uses a basic attack, he gains 1 lvl. Dragon's Call status on 2 move. Each status level of Dragon's Call increases the wearer's attack power by 18-30% and energy recovery rate 6-10%. The Dragon's Call status can stack up to 2 times. | The main problem with the light cone is the need to maintain Dragon Call, which is inconvenient for Hook, who mainly plays from the ultimate ability and skill. One way or another, the effects of the "card" are quite strong: it provides an increase in the main characteristics of the character - crit. chance, attack power and energy recovery. Weapons can be equipped in case there are no more worthy "applicants". |
⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 43-952 ATK 21-476 DEF 15-330 |
Increases attack power by 10-20%, also increases damage dealt to Burning and Bleeding enemies by 16-32%. This effect also applies to damage over time. | The best 4-star option, while completely free. Increases attack power, and most importantly - gives an increase in damage if the opponents have the "Burning" status, which is fully consistent with the mechanics of the character. In addition, Hook herself, thanks to her talent, deals increased damage to burning targets. |
⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 48-1058 ATK 21-476 DEF 12-264 |
Increases wearer's damage by |
Although the second half of the effect cannot be activated all the time, in battles against enemies with higher health (for example, bosses or elite mobs), this light cone is not inferior in effectiveness to the previous option. |
⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 43-952 ATK 24-529 DEF 12-264 |
Increases the wearer's attack power by |
Will increase the survivability of Hook, which will be especially useful if there are no healers in the team. While this buff does not provide any tangible benefit on its own, the weapon provides a fairly high increase in attack power without any strings attached. |
⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 48-1058 ATK 21-476 DEF 12-264 |
Using a basic attack, skill, or superpower grants one level of Mischief. Each level increases attack power by |
Signature Hook. Although it doesn't really stand out from other epic weapons, it has a fairly simple and understandable ive effect that increases attack power. However, it is worth noting that in order to get the maximum number of stacks, you need to use one active skill each (attack, skill and ult). |
⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 43-952 ATK 21-476 DEF 15-330 |
Increases the wearer's attack power by 16-32%. After defeating the enemy, crit. owner's chance is increased by 12-24% for 3 moves. | It is recommended to use against multiple targets, as you need to defeat the enemy to get the buff to the crit chance. If the effect does activate, this light cone gets higher in rating, especially at R5. The position is due to a certain narrow focus, especially since the character shows himself better in single-target. Anyway, as an alternative, this is a great option. |
⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 43-952 ATK 22-476 DEF 15-331 |
The penetration effect is increased by 28-56%. When the owner uses a superpower, his crit. chance increases by 15-30% for 2 moves. | The ive effect of the second part of the cone works from the activation of the ultimate skill and significantly buffs the critical chance. However, instead of attack power, equipment offers bonuses to a more situational characteristic - the penetration effect. If you can’t find the “card” above, you can consider a similar replacement option. |
⭐⭐⭐ HP 38-846 ATK 16-370 DEF 9-198 |
Increases the damage of the basic attack and skill of the owner by |
The optimal 3-star cone, which can be used until the first epics are obtained. Increases the damage of a normal strike and a skill, which is a good bonus in the early game. |
Best Relics [artifacts]
In artifacts on Hook, we recommend looking for the following characteristics in the ive effect (by priority):
- Fire damage.
- Attack Power.
- Chance. crit hit / crit. damage.
- Speed / penetration effect.
Cave relics [main artifacts]
Name | Effects | Recommendation |
---|---|---|
⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
2 parts: Increases fire damage by 10%. 4 parts: increases the damage dealt by the 's skills by 12%, and also increases the fire damage of the next attack after using the super ability by 12%. |
The best relic set for Hook as it can provide a 22% total fire damage bonus (10% ively and 12% after ulting for the next attack). In addition, it increases the damage of skills that the Mole leader actively uses during the battle. |
⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
2 parts: Increases damage dealt to enemies with Debuffs by 12%. 4 parts: Increases crit. 4% chance. Crete. The owner's damage dealt to enemies with at least 2/3 debuffs increases by 8%/12% respectively. After the owner applies a Debuff to an enemy, the above effects are increased by 100% for 1 turn. |
Alternative relics for Hooks that work from the presence of weaknesses on opponents. The leader of the Moles gang imposes a negative status when carrying out an attack, so he can take advantage of both two parts and a double bonus. However, four parts still require a second debuffer in the group. |
⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
2 parts: Increases crit. 8% chance. 4 parts: Increases skill and super ability damage by 20%. After using a super ability, the damage of the next skill increases by 25%. |
A strong set that provides an increase to the critical chance and increases the damage of the skill and ult, with which the heroine deals the most damage. Moreover, to maximize the use of the relic, you do not need to follow any rotation, since the additional boost for the skill is always activated if the ult was previously used. |
2 parts: Increases damage dealt to enemies with Debuffs by 12%. 2 parts: Increases fire damage by 10%. 2 parts: Increases crit. 8% chance. |
The above sets can be combined profitably, receiving an elemental bonus, increased damage and crit chance. The combination of these sets is superior in strength to other alternatives and is considered a good solution as a final equipment option. | |
⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
2 parts: increases attack power by 12%. 4 parts: Increases speed by 6% and base attack damage by 10%. |
A great set that gives pretty useful buffs without any strings attached. It will be a great alternative until you get the Fire and Lava Smith. Subsequently, it can be used for other characters or in the form of 2 parts. |
⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
2 parts: Increases attack power by 12%. 4 parts: For each damage over time effect an enemy has (up to max 3), the owner ignores 6% of that enemy's Defense when dealing damage. |
A situational set with a strong bonus. Can be equipped with good characteristics, since the set bonus allows you to ignore defense, which has a positive effect on damage. The set loses to the options above and the 2+2 combinations of Firesmith and Lava. |
⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
2 parts: Increases penetration effect by 16%. 4 parts: Increases the owner's penetration effect by 16%. When the owner breaks through the enemy's vulnerability, restores 3 units. energy. |
The penetration bonus is quite specific, since if the enemies do not have a weakness to fire, it becomes useless. However, in certain situations it will allow you to deal more fire damage over time. This is especially in demand in some worlds of the Virtual Universe against bosses or elites. |
Firesmith of Lava-Forging / Musketeer of Wild Wheat / Вop falling meteor |
2 parts: Increases fire damage by 10%. 2 parts: Increases attack power by 12%. 2 parts: Increases penetration effect by 16%. |
If it is not possible to assemble complete sets, you can combine them with each other. For example, equip 2 pieces of Fire and Lava Smith + 2 pieces of Wild Wheat Shooter to get +10% fire and +12 attack power. |
Planar Ornaments [Additional Artifacts]
Name | Effects | Recommendation |
---|---|---|
⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
2 parts: increases crit. 8% chance. If crit. the owner's chance is 70% (or higher), the damage of his basic attack and skill is increased by 20%. | The best set of planar decorations for a character, as it increases crit. chance and gives an increase to the damage from the basic attack and, most importantly, the skill. "Hey, Hook?" deals colossal damage after using the superpower, and the planar in question will add a significant % to this "colossal damage". |
⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
2 parts: Critical hit chance +8%. When Crit Chance reaches 50% or more, Super Damage and Bonus Attack +15%. |
Top 2 set among planar decorations after the appearance of the above set. ively increases crit. chance, which makes it much easier to achieve balance with crit. damage, which increases when pumping traces. Also enhances Superpower when 50% KSh is present. |
⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
2 parts: Attack Power +12%. When the speed reaches 120 units and above, in addition to the attack power + 12%. | A decoration that is approximately on the same level as its predecessor due to a noticeable increase in attack power. However, to receive the maximum bonus you need to have at least 120 speed units. If crit. 60-70% chance, it is better to give preference to this set. |
⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
2 parts: Increases crit. damage by 16%. When the current crit. damage reaches 120% and above, at the beginning of the battle, the crit chance is increased by 60% until the end of the first attack. |
Because crit. Hook's damage increases with pumping, and it can be collected in additional. stats, this set is inferior to the previous ones. But if you have the right characteristics, it will be an excellent alternative, especially if the attack and crit chance are in abundance. |
⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
2 parts: Penetration Effect +16%. When the speed reaches 145 units and above, the penetration effect is additionally increased by 20%. |
In planar decorations, the penetration effect looks more relevant, for example, in combination with the "Fire and Lava Smith". Nevertheless, it is still inferior to the previous options, since crits and attack are initially more priority characteristics. |
Detachments
Hook specializes more in single targets, so against a group of enemies, characters are recommended for her as partners Paths of Erudite. Although the leader of the Moles can handle the bosses on his own, in some cases the additional damage of the heroes Paths of the Hunt will be very helpful. s are placed on the remaining slots - healers (Abundance), shielders (Preservation), buffers (Harmony) or debuffers (Noneness).
Best characters
The following characters are suitable for making a team with Hook:

The main advantage of Sparkle is not only the increase in crit. damage, as well as total outgoing damage. The “klutz” in the mask directly affects the increase in the number of skill points used during battle, and also contributes to their accelerated recovery. | |||
Significantly strengthens the entire squad by increasing the penetration of all types of resistance and damage inflicted on enemies. Ideally, it is placed in teams that are aimed at fighting clusters of enemies, since it itself deals damage in an area and receives additional energy if allies attack frequently and at several targets. | |||

How to play Hook
Hook is a character that specializes in dealing high damage to single targets and nearby enemies, as well as inflicting a status Combustionthat deals damage over time. Her playstyle is quite simple and consists of using all active skills in sequence - except for the moments when instead of a skill it is required to make an attack to restore skill points.
The main feature of the boss of the Moles squad is the ability to constantly set fire to opponents. Therefore, it is recommended to apply Burning every turn as the effect ends (the duration of the ignite from the skill is 2 turns, and the technique - 3 turns).
Rotation
Although the order in which skills are applied may differ depending on the situation, there are a few key points to consider when composing a Hook rotation:
- Before the start of the battle, use vehicles with buffs on s. Then switch to the Hook and use the "Ack! Look at This Mess! » Attack an enemy (if there is more than one, choose one with a weakness to fire). With a 50% chance, this will allow you to apply the Burning status to all enemy targets at the start of the battle.
- When it's the character's turn, use the "Hey! Hook?” to have a 100% chance to activate an additional Burning effect on the selected enemy (including neighboring ones if you have a 4th eidolon).
- Instantly use your superpowerBoom! Here Comes the Fire! » when filling the energy bar to finish off the most weakened target or destroy enemy armor. It will also boost the next cast of the skill before the "explosion" and allow you to deal AoE damage in a small area.
- Try to always attack enemies that are under the Burning status. In this case, Hook deals additional fire damage and restores 5 energy. Information about all buffs and debuffs can be viewed in the corresponding menu by clicking on the magnifying glass icon, which is located in the lower left corner of the screen.
- Pay attention to skill points - if there are 2 or less of them, it is better to give preference to the basic attack, for example, if you need to heal, apply shields, and so on.
Conclusion on the character
Hook in HSR is a character that is simple in of mechanics and application, which plays the role of a primary or secondary damage dealer. Although she performs better against single targets, she can deal damage to several enemies due to the “explosion” from the skill. The boss of the Mole Squad specializes in the stable imposition of the Burning status, which allows you to help the team with periodic damage.
At later stages, it begins to yield to other representatives of its element, it does not compete much with the characters of the Way of the Hunt or Erudite - since it deals less damage on a solo target, and in any case, area attacks are not capable of hitting all opponents. However, this does not prevent her from remaining in demand as an additional source of damage outside the battlefield, making a significant impact in any battle.
We hope we have helped you put together the best HSR Hook build. Ask any questions about the character in the comments so that the author or other players can help. Read builds.
Is it worth ing it for fun? There is nothing to cover the fiery vulnerability with (
Wouldn't Guinafeni come to her? The hook stacks burning, Guinafeni cuts off the mobs' protection for it, and explodes the stacks with his ult, add to this Asta and some healer/tank, and it should work very well, in theory?
I think so too, but for some reason this build is not here
the norm will be the hook of Asta Bailu and Jingliu
I think so, if survivability doesn't drop (Hook has poor defense, Jingliu reduces HP of allies, Asta is just weak because of the Harmony class) IMHO
