How to start the God's Messenger quest in KCD 2
At the end of the previous task "For victory!" Mr. Bergov's armed detachment falls into an ambush, and Henry and Jan are forced to fight their way to the Nebakov mill. Having wounded the ataman of the invaders, Henry is captured by bandits. After the cutscene, the main character is replaced by Father Boguta, whom the ladies Racek and Hanush sent to search for their sons.
Walkthrough of the quest God's Messenger in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
As Father Boguta, you will have to talk to the innkeeper in Zheleyev, who will tell you about the recent massacre at the Nebakovskaya Mill. Find out all the necessary information and go to rescue the prisoners, fighting robbers and marauders along the way.
Go to the ambush site at Nebakovskaya Mill
The quest begins with a get-together in the tavern of the Zhelejovski inn and a conversation with the local innkeeper. Boguta's father tells stories about himself, while trying to find out information about the whereabouts of Henry and Ptacek. Here you can choose the lines at your own discretion, since what you say will not affect your reputation or the plot. The innkeeper will advise you to talk to the people who escaped from the mill.
Go to the barn at the tavern, which is located northeast of the table where you talked to the innkeeper. Inside you will find the wounded farmhand Kuba and the servant Anna - witnesses of those events. In the dialogue with them, choose any lines, they will not affect your reputation. After talking to the villagers, you will learn details about the recent massacre and you can try to find out whether Henry and Jan are alive. The villagers, although not sure, assume that the guys were hanged along with the others.
When Anna asks you to bless Cuba for a speedy recovery, answer: "I will be glad". The priest will say a prayer, and the grateful girl will give Boguta an expensive commemorative ring and some reputation. If desired, the ring can be sold to the innkeeper and something useful can be bought, for example, saving schnapps to be able to save at any time.
Fast travel for Boguta is not available, so after talking to people, call the priest's horse to the button "X", get on it and ride towards Nebakovskaya Mill. You need to get on the road going southeast past Zheleev. Along the way, Boguta will give you hints about turns, so you won't have to constantly check the map.
There are no more crossroads, so go straight until you reach a fallen tree. Go around it on the road on the right and continue moving forward between the broken carts on the only road along the ravine.
Defeat the bandits
Soon you will see a couple of marauders ahead, robbing corpses. You can approach them and talk to them, trying to find out information about the whereabouts of Mr. Ptacek and Henry.
This dialogue will not bring much benefit. In the end you will be able to decide whether to fight them or just by. If you engage in combat, it is enough to kill one of the marauders, the second will run away.
Continue towards the mill, without turning off the main road. When you see a fork in the road with a path going under a fallen tree, turn left. You need to get to the place where Henry fought with the chieftain.
Soon you will meet a mercenary who will take Boguta to the commander of the squad that cleans up the corpses.
A dialogue with the commander will begin - the elections during it are unimportant, in any case, the marauders will soon attack. Help the mercenaries fight off the enemies, after which you need to talk to Eric again.
Go to Nebakov with Eric
Eric will offer to mount a horse and go to Nebakov - saddle Zhivka and go after the mercenary. It is not necessary to control the horse at this point, you can simply press "L Alt", and Boguta will follow Eric automatically. The dialogue choices on the way to the fortress are also unimportant.
Along the way, you can compete with Eric, trying to gallop to the fortress faster than him. Considering that Boguta has the "Forefront" perk, which allows you to use a quick start and immediately gain more speed, this is not difficult to do. Double-click "L Shift" and keep up a gallop on your way to the fortress. Winning this competition will earn you some reputation.
Learn about the captives
When thinking about what to answer the ataman, keep in mind that the time to choose each remark during this dialogue is limited. You can say whatever you want, in any case, the dialogue will not affect your reputation and will not lead to an agreement.
Defeat the rebels and protect the Nebaks
At the end of the conversation with the chieftain, a rebellion will break out, and Boguta will take advantage of the confusion to catch the chieftain off guard. Seeing the priest's skill, the mercenary commander will ask for help in suppressing the rebellion, for which he will promise to give him Henry and Ptacek.
After the dialogue is over, run to the northwestern part of the fortress, where the battle with the rebels has already begun. Do not delay entering the battle, as the ataman's warriors will soon die and you will have to fight alone against a large group of rebels.
If you wait too long, the fight will end in defeat and you will have to load the last checkpoint. To even out the forces, defeat several opponents and be careful, as Boguta's father does not have heavy armor that can withstand many sword blows.
After the victory, a cut-scene will start in which you need to talk to the chieftain and receive from him what he promised for help.
Try to find out more from Istvan
The next cutscene will show the events that happened a little earlier with Henry and Ptacek. They were thrown into a dungeon under the Nebakov Fortress, soon after which Istvan Toth, Henry's sworn enemy, appeared, having stolen his father's sword. Henry immediately reports the scoundrel's connection with Sigismund. Having learned of the betrayal, the chieftain locks Istvan in the dungeon and goes to meet with his father Boguta, who has arrived.
Once you are close to your sworn enemy, you can try to find out details about the attacks and the stolen sword. You can ask any questions, they will not affect anything, and Istvan will not answer any of them. In any case, Eric will soon appear and free his partner so that they can escape from the fortress in the confusion.
Almost immediately, Boguta's father will enter and free Indro and Jan. Before completing the quest, it remains to talk to the centurion and Boguta about what to do next.
In this dialogue, the answer choices are also unimportant, so answer at your discretion. At the end of the conversation, you will be able to ask all the questions you are interested in about the events that happened earlier.
Watch the cutscene where the priest will treat Jan Zizka's wounded eye, and proceed to the next task - "Finger of God".
